On a Sweltering Day

on a sweltering day, I watch the sky as it tries to eke out tears. . . . but it simp ly can not drenched in sweat, too stifled even to stir, I see grey clouds gathering - then suddenly explode! sheets upon sheets of rain come pounding down - freed, I stand smiling beneath. . . . as heaven weeps for joy

On a sweltering day I'm in AC. It's quite a lovely place to be. The ozone layer is fading fast. Just how did we cope in the past. A hundred and one in the shade. Mosquito's, the only ones that've got it made. With natures showers to feed their need. And our blood to satiate their greed.

It is hot here in the Dirty South too. Not near enough rain. Nice poem! I don't understand the meaning of the last two comments you left me. Maybe I am just slow! Take care. And thank you again for the help with your archives. We are off until AUG.8th.

*sheets upon sheets of rain come pounding down* - come to Inverness, my home town. Where you'll find rain, nearly every single day, and stand with me, as her champagne on us sprays. Good luck in the contest Andrea :)

The rain brings relief after the hot spell. I should try a Kimo one of these days. I missed Carolyn contest. She had one spot left and that night I did research and wrote it to post the next morning but it was taken off -so someone posted one. That evening a show was on about the rock formations around the world so I learned a ton. ha ha. love phyl

This would be a wonderful relief on a sweltering day. However we have been getting the rain without the heat here. Thanks for your comment on Illiterate Goose. She was probably looking for ha ha humor and that's not me. Thanks for getting it. Love, Joyce
