an actor he was typecast
a soldier hit by a blast
but as of today
he's out mowing hay
farming a dramatic past.
golden brown leaves fall
grass no longer needs mowing
waits for snow blanket

Trudging behind a hungry machine
who's diet consist of all things green.
Just when the lawn is picture plane
three days later it's grown again.
My heart is not into mowing grass.
Although I must since I’m middle class.

No mo' mowing
No mo' mowing
The grass is dying
the grass is brown
My frown is upside down
I feel like a silly clown
No mo', no mo' mowing
The morning birdsongs,
The mowing, planes in the sky;
The sound of sprinklers.
Ice cream truck circles the block;
The kids yelling and screaming.
Sagebrush Sam was tired of blowing
His impatience was keenly showing
Always in sandy land that needed no mowing
He yearned for Iowa where it was snowing
The limericks piled in his yard
Made mowing and maintenance hard.
The blade would get stuck
When nonsense it struck,
The handle from hyperbole jarred.
The alien saucer fell hard.
It landed right there in my yard.
I'd give them jobs mowing
or cooking and sewing
but none of them has a Green Card.
no rain brings no weeds
grass ceases to survive
like clockwork it rains
rain brings many weeds
grass becomes green once again
daily mowing starts
i'll be damned and i'll be forlorn
but I've never seen a green sheep shorn
like mowing the grass
off a chia pet's back
they say that's the way they were born
No mower today
The silence is beautiful
Perfect warm weather
I wonder about neighbor
Usually mows daily
But pandemic keeps me back
I love this non- mowing sound

Mowing over

Flame thrower
Leaves smolder
Smoky odor
Feeling bolder
Getting older

I go outside to enjoy nature
Something I haven't done in a while.
The birds chirping the bees buzzing
My neighbors are mowing their grass.
It reminds me to appreciate the small things.

Ten boats rafted together,
Wine time, no mowing the lawn,
Twenty fast friends forever,
Ready for challenges of next dawn!

Her lady garden needed a mowing
His love juices were readily flowing
He made it his mission
To get in position
Now his seed he is happily sowing

Yellow grass Yes
If we have off yellow grass,
no need for the mower pass,
perhaps i'm a donkey ass,
don't like a mowing.
For Francine Robert's Contest:
Flowers, trees, grass, or bees
never tried this before?
I cross alone the starve town in the night.
Ghosts at windows look the gray of the sky.
Cold and nobody is in the streets.
My footsteps ring on sidewalk
and the shadow lean more and more.
The death with her mowing
comes in the town.

Yard Work
Written: by Miracle Man

The morning has started with a drizzle falling,
my name, the tall grass, seems to be calling.
But a puddled yard,
makes mowing hard,
and daily rains have made mowing appalling.
Spring
colourful, fresh
awakening, burgeoning, bursting
crocuses, daffodils, bluebells, blossom
mowing, rolling, planting
heatwave, drought

On an August afternoon
mowing a large patch of grass,
all around me barn swallows
are swooping, diving, snap rolling,
feasting on insects stirred up
by my mower.
As I pass one sitting
on the top wire of our fence,
our blue eyes meet
in mutual admiration.

So Today My Work's Attained;

all my flowers are growing
grass may need mowing
