Every milestone we meet is wonderful
but upon further inspection…
Every milestone is just a reminder
that we are heading in the right direction
Blisters from shoes, hampered his speed
Banters from foes, sauntered to bleed
Ran barefooted, marathon booted
Ethiopia on his feet, milestone in feat.
Tragedy does not triumph over justice
Justice survives after the tragedy
Tragedy is only the milestone of justice
Justice is eternal, tragedy is momentary.
Death does error, rejoice like men of hope
Friends can cope, prayer, cold here take my coat
memory recall if we choose to stall
which milestone then will our heart celebrate
knowing that waves that rise will in time fall
love alone not subject to fickle fate
A birthday is to savor
celebrations never lose their flavor

I see an ant crawling along the train platform.
We are like ants in the universe's vast form.
Life as hard as stone, like this ant I am alone,
But I know I will return home, each milestone.
the milestone attained
a benediction bestowed
so in midst of celebrations
bliss drenched soul presence
recognising ephemerality
pulsates in nonchalance
as during a downturn
watching life unfold
Silence, is the enemy
In my grief
When occupied
I feel no pain
What's done
Cannot be changed
A month has passed
The milestone
Weighs heavy on me
As I think it should
I'm provoking myself
To define, normality
Form:
" one piece of diamond ring,"

departed dead
and the same
may be said
of all who tread
this weary world
of ours
less a milestone
more a speed bump
each Birthday
I perceive
and poetry
is but one way to fill
the waning hours for me
The trail of my passing
the joy and the tears
Each memory a milestone
to mark every year
That road undiscovered
lay before me ahead
With faith as my guidepost
—deeper footsteps to tread

I played my first 3 games of Candyland with my grandson:
The first game, he reached the magic castle first
with a slow and steady climb,
The second game was all mine; he was the victim of a backward slide.
The third game, he took a shortcut and was disqualified.
When I have zero days -
a chill fills the hearth, earth-pillow’s under my moan;
hushed hallways.
Of zero hours -
can’t hear them pray, the silent tone
devours.
The tick -
seconds to own…
sick.
My soul follows the blaze.

When Life’s milestone we reach
journey thus far has much to teach,
It is Life’s co-traveller’s imprint
that marks the journey in our stint,
She spreads the joy that Life bestows
and stands by when Life bangs its blows,
As we walk together hand in hand
let our Love for each other expand.
Dull though life may seem to the very young -
Rewards await those on the bottom rung.
Each step marks a milestone that is well done -
All who reach and say,"Yes, that is the one!"
Make that your "dream" and climb away, my son.
