O Sun, My Lodestar

O Sun, my lodestar, I shall not profane Thee
You guide my way, to greet the outcast amiably
Yea, though mine is an era bereft of civility
You beam down upon me, mercifully

Ocean

waves loudly

crashing on shore

mercifully drown cares~

bring peace

Cocoon

Oh, put me in a cocoon,
Where I can mercifully swoon,
Wrap me up in Mummy wrap,
If it means I'll get a nap
Hit me on the head,
With a pipe of lead.
My eyes are tellin' me
I'd better sleep
If I want to see.

Winged Comprehension

Inside its tiny brain,
does it think?
"I'm a cargo plane."

Or does it
imagine acrobatic feats?

Does it hear
its wings sound zooms?
As it flies across a room.
Imagining,
“I have flown
to the moon!”

Likely though,
there is no thought.
Mercifully when
in a spider’s web,
CAUGHT!

Heart Beat

The second I put my ear against your chest
while I hugged you near the river Thames

I listened I felt synchronised.
The sine wave of your heart beat
went in phase of mine.
The clarity of that speculation
was adored and embraced .
I endulged that so mercifully ...
best thing I ever felt.

The River Flows

The river flows
We follow its turns
Through rapids and rocks
Its energy burns

It takes us where
It mercifully goes
With calming straits
The river flows

Lakes are found
Their beauty grows
With shores abound
From rocky rows

From still to force
It roams to the sea
The river flows
Like you Like me

The End

The end

So it is all over
ashes to ashes
dying is expensive
not paid for by
the recipient.
The padre was mercifully short
four funerals a day
nothing new to say.
The violinist played Ave Maria
I tried not to cry.
Death is a great leveler.
The empty feeling of the gone.
We had a good dinner and spoke of other things.

The Shadow of Love

In the shadow of love,
The restless shuffle
And shun, as if in
Recovery. Fallen

Bliss burns, like hot coals
Under anxious feet,
Molecules surrender
One upon the other.

Serendipitously,
Nature's adventurous
Spirit absorbs the spill of
Cast down shadows,

Sheaths of fallen love,
On the wings of angels,
Mercifully cobbled
Into hearts and bones.

Colours of Despair

Images; pitiful black images
suckling frantically from dry, empty breasts.
Black eyes; wide open, fearful, but
mercifully blind to destiny's most unforgiving hand.

Victims:tormented by the incessant heat of the sun's bejewelled rays,
mercy is fleeting; uncompromising
shades of hopelessness cocoon innocent souls;
But Fate will cast its untimely shadow
Black is the colour of despair.

She Sees Me

She said she would pray for me. In bed sleeping peacefully. Hands folded perfectly.
Mercifully she speaks to me. Hopefully I'll better me. Let her be ahead of me. Steadily I'll
pick up speed. Heavily, it hurts to breathe. I'm certain she has what I need. She's in my
blood, she's what I bleed. She sees what I was and knows what I can be. She believes. She
makes me want to succeed. She takes me for me.

Wanderlust

my heart's children all

married traveling french gypsies

gracefully transforming them

into gospel preachers

true transformation begins

outside the realms

of pure comfort

existing without reason

wanderlust satisfies

their soul's prayers

gently cocooning life's

injuries with silken

band-aids wrapped ever-so

mercifully at the base

eternity planted as

seeds sowed casually

salvation weeps uncontrollably

God Questions

When this life is over, whatever be my fate,
I have a few God questions I'd like answered at heaven's gate.
Why do some live long lives while others leave so quickly?
Why let children suffer with maladies, so sickly?
Does a soul choose its birth family?
Will mankind ever live together peacefully?
Is there truly a hell where bad people go to fry?
What happens to animals when they die?
I'll hold my thoughts for eternity if God would only answer, mercifully.

Jupiter

Jupiter, Our Guardian Angel.
We would not be here if not for she.
Jupiter is constantly bombarded by asteroids almost continuously.
Asteroids which would have hit our planet earth ever so devastatingly.
We owe in great part our existence to Jupiter who guards us mercifully.
She still protects us to this very day
taking on asteroids that would have otherwise come our way.
Life on our planet would have never begun
if not for the protection of Jupiter, the fifth planet from the Sun.

Reflect On the Need To Genuflect

Why do we omit to reflect
On the need to genuflect
To God waiting for it in His Altar
To be moved to mercifully alter
What in life makes us falter …

The Often Out-Of-Order
We wouldn’t want to go further
In the nature of a triumphing defect
With its concomitant effect;
As bad as balls that deflect
Or words A Grammarian didn’t inflect …

Ample reasons we have to be sad,
When we keep losing but aren’t mad
Or keep spending hard-to-stay wad
And telling people we once it had.
