High in the mountains
A log cabin in the trees
Aspens in color
Sit next to maples scarlet blaze
Hear the rippling river sing
Auburn maples
Umber oaks
Toss their burdens on the ground
Undulating sky black and white
Mirror my emotions as winter
Nears
golden morning sun
dances upon chilly lake..
red maples undress
Inspired by Skat's contest pictures
sultry summer days
maples will soon mourn their leaves
for Fall approaches
on Nature's rush of chill winds
another seasonal change
maples
drape long alleys
woodsmoke-scents stir crisp air
bright leaves whirl down on musty ground’s
carpet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
barn swallows dip low~
peach light rises from gravel road
sun melts into maples
when maples blushed red,
you came as a whiff of air,
nudging into me.
I drift to a reverie,
in which I so love to drown
Bleeding Sugar maples drip by drip
as a child, I'd oft steal a sip.
A New Crystalline - Any Theme
Sponsored by: Tania Kitchin
bare the foliage of trees
petals crumbling… split from bones
ghosts of maples hanging low,
ashen backdrop tilts
Mature arboretum
Memory of spring gone
Many start to wither
Maple leaves dominate
Multi-coloured display
Montage for October
Masterclass in fine art
Maples crown the ridge.
Light stains every pane.
A chimney exhales.
Wrens stitch dusk homeward.
One bright moment lingers.
Night gathers the thread.
She must of been,
A crescent moon,
The way she shimmered,
And glows,
With the Autumn hues,
Her love,
Luminously sweet,
With the palm,
And maples trees
Reynaldo Casison
noises off
abound,
all around:
blackbirds,
willow
maples,boats
and fishing nets:
recollections ,
immersed
memories in
whispered sounds
Maples thrive in autumn
Mature leaves change colors
Melange of rustic hues
Maroon, umber and gold
Mortality in flight
Mother trees left weeping
Mourning 'til early Spring
Passion’s lust consumes
the Maples turning red
Lulling them to sleep
in a cool November bed
stripping them of color
left naked in the snow
shivering in memories
December winds now blow
Maples have long life spans
Most are deciduous
Makes great stringed instruments
Many have bright fall hues
Marked by crimson and gold
Much loved by bird species
Marvelous bell shaped blooms
waves pound rocky coast
wafting winds blow former rock
Sand dunes on the beach
smooth Path through the woods
oaks and maples provide shade
deer hide from the sun
Our election is over and Doug Ford is the chap
In the face of we Liberals, a humongous slap
One Ford was enough
We've fallen on our duffs
Our Canadian maples have been drained of their sap
Montage of Autumn flows
Marked by minty trees ...lush!
Mauve-gold leaves whirl a prance
Melding shade for couples -
Moonlight foliage thralls
Mood's magic brings rapture
Maple moments of Fall !
An orchestra of birds
Creates a mixed symphony-
Hoots of horn, sweep of violins
Enchanting flowers to whirl
And maples on pastures
Invite feathered friends
To nestle on their boughs--
Awaiting daylight's rhythmic croon.
Maple trees- you stand tall
Meeting October's change-
Melding to burnished golds.
Midst our Autumn splendor-
Mark shedding as goodbye.
Meer naked, you'll sleep till
March- as buds wake again.
Kiss me
Kiss me o’er the sunset
Kiss me ‘fore the dawn
Kiss me ‘neath a glowing moon
‘Pon a dew drop lawn
Kiss me ‘midst the maples
Kiss me ‘long the shore
Kiss me o’ my precious one
Now and ev’r more
Majestic maple trees,
Mixed coloured autumn leaves.
Mirrored on cool waters,
Montage miscellanies.
Myrtle, flame, silvered streaks,
Magenta, edged with gold,
Moonlight bliss, lovers kiss.
10 / 16 / 2024.
Lemon hues drape an autumn- sky
Mellow its crawl across eve's wake -
Near a lagoon's edge, tiny shadows appear
Inviting a rhapsody from birds' drool
Where pines, maples play to honor a season's gloam.
How do the green clovers,
feel,
In the Autumn sun,
And Moonlight,
Embraced by the high maples,
caress of mango wind,
And a sweetly beautiful lady,
They feel the blush,
Of her Beauty,
Its irises and rose,
And enchanted kisses,
Of its hymns
