Notes About The Poem

Andrea's October Symbols Contest   October 17, 2024

Maples

Maples thrive in autumn
Mature leaves change colors
Melange of rustic hues
Maroon, umber and gold
Mortality in flight
Mother trees left weeping
Mourning 'til early Spring

Lin, all M's for maple trees. They are really something indeed. We have one Norway Maple in our yard now that is quite large. It's a pleasant companion. All wonderful. We also have a wall of Japanese Maples that turn very red about now. Smiles!

Hi Lin! Beauty, grief and hope all perfectly expressed in seven lines! So many perfectly crafted expressions of the season - "melange of rustic hues," "maples thrive in autumn," "umber, maroon and gold!" I love the uniquely creative line "mortality in flight!" I am so happy you decided to enter contests again. I have been enjoying your entries! Sending you hugs, a rainbow of autumn joy and blessings!
