The Lure of Forbidden

Things that are forbidden,
We always try to seek..
That what is hidden,
Tempts us more to peek..
The forbidden has this lure,
A lure with no cure..
Its a game with no wins,
All are prone to this deadly sin..

Premium Member Evening Lure Awhile

Awash with fire tinted shade,
indigo a shrill magnet,
serene usher I extol,
as fool’s gold sky slinked

blue hue phase swift facile flit,
dust and gas spark burnt red lit,
magenta my bosom fair,
hue’d lithe peck, dusk flare

Premium Member The Lure of the Sea

The lure of the sea was lost on me
Forbidding waters caused me to flee

But to where ... not to the air
Imagine a fall from way high up there

Seeking a safe zone, I stayed at home...
And with little to say, I mastered the poem

The Button At the Bottom of the Jar

Much like the “cracker jack prize”
At the bottom of the box
As candy lore goes.
That unique badge of honor
For those who would dive deep
To grasp the brass button.
Beware this lure full of
Deceit.
Along the way you may yourself

Quatrain #509:
LURE

Look to the tease beyond the sight,
Use joy to please frolic in flight;
Rush of fond ease moves happy touch,
Etch streams deep peace in brilliant light.

The Lure

Sweet,sweet, sweet,
like a fresh honey,
sweet, sweet sweet,
cubes of sugar melted
in. Sweet, sweet,
sweet, the whore girl
says that sex defeat
honey and sugar in
sweetness, while i a
virgin ,a taste am yet
to feel.

Premium Member The Lure of Venus

A striking splash of iridescent light
The inspiring moon the splendour of night,
So many minds that scan you from afar
Making wishes beneath your shooting star,
My telescope focused I see your face
Oh! Alluring Venus the lure of space.

Premium Member Blind Man Lure

Across thIs scenic route a fools gold signpost,
pointing in the wrong direction to some vibrant deep green “plot” that lost its hue on close inspection.
Visionary luscious slope and peak,
giddy silver stream,
harbourmaster of the trompe l’oeil for distant minds who dwell in make belief

Premium Member Lure of the Sea

Shoreward she wafts
faint smile flutters next her lips
wave-enveloped, lurid flesh revealed
  enigmatic, wind-whipped ballet...

Ghostly arms, tapering to a scepter-finger
limbs commence, melt into silent surf
cruel lips, melt into silent surf
whisper, "Love me, Disembody, Love me"

Premium Member Lure of the Gem

Your lover wants me.
Everyone wants to be.
Show me you care.
That you are there.
Look into your lover's eyes.
Heartfelt surprise.
Look into your stone.
Are you alone?
Is there light?
Is it your delight?
What worth is a gem?
Is it worth it to them?
Is love a delusion?
A gem an illusion?

Memories Lure

Where have all
the heroes gone
Immortalized
in film and song

Bigger than the roles
they played
Magic lost
in time’s belay

Where are all
the pillars strewn
Monuments
to highest noon

Closed are now
the paths they forged
Orphaned
— in their memories lure

Premium Member The Lure of the Familiar

The streets of yesterday, comforting
   The landscape of tomorrow, forbidding

Familiar foods rouse fond memories
   Tampering with tradition, disapproval

My well-worn armchair's form-fitted to me
That new recliner, stiff as a bad knee

Your scent, your aura, ingratiating
   All others, alienating

Premium Member The Lure of Lavender

As I stand alone
     in reverie
A lavender sky
     envelopes me.
Trees whisper in calls
     with quiet breath
To mark the time
     of indigo's death.

The crisp scent of spring
     refines the air
As dawn graces twilight
     with colors rare.
Still lake reflections
     in morning light
Share an aura
     with alluring sight.

Premium Member Lure of Rose

You’re gone in winter, planting my yearning as sapling of rose in my pale pasture, where now spring has come. On jade meadow dew designs pearls, blue-bells soak sheen, breeze sways daisies. Fragrance of bloomed rose lures butterfly, bringing to me you.

Premium Member Dusk Silky Lure

Written: November 02. 2025, for Line Gautier contest ************ She glided as dusk sprouted in a silky embrace, Behind her, she left a trail of intricate details. The room leaned into her breath, Each word was a lewd lure, a soft flame. We stood wrapped in the warmth of her light, By morning, we found ourselves giddy.

You lure me to your secrets

A curtain instead of a door, the light of a car runs here and there along the wall and runs into the corner across the room along the ceiling.
You can hear the television from the other room across the hall.
There are no words to understand, just the talking, music and gunshots of the villain detective.
I fall asleep and the thought of your secrets lies with me in my head.

Premium Member Rabbit Hole

What dangers lurk
on the dark side
of one’s
imaginary world
what fantasy
will lure you
to your undoing
in such conniving ways
so innocent her smile
she will entice you
most beguiling charms
down an endless
rabbit hole
deceiving snare
illusion turned
to quicksand
and to what end you ask
it’s nothing more than
a silly game
