Rabbit Hole

What dangers lurk
on the dark side
of one’s
imaginary world
what fantasy
will lure you
to your undoing
in such conniving ways
so innocent her smile
she will entice you
most beguiling charms
down an endless
rabbit hole
deceiving snare
illusion turned
to quicksand
and to what end you ask
it’s nothing more than
a silly game
~ beware

What dangers lurk on the dark side of one’s / imaginary world what fantasy... That's how iambic pentameter in the beginning of the poem lures readers to undoing in such a conniving way. Beware, reader) Quicksandly penned, Line. A true rabbit hole.

This reminds me of Lewis Carrol and Alice. It has such a deadly "ring" to it.

Games can be dangerous... we just don't know. We need to read the rules... lol.. but we never do, until they are often broken. Loved it... you are exceptional. Ann
