nights gone by and still,
Luna laments her lost love...
tearful ocean born
**Written for Raul's Reflections contest :)
Baleful, cold and bright
Luna stares tonight, unblinking,
astonished by fecund Earth,
within its jealous gaze.
MS 1/18/14
Permanent hand stamp
in copper, green and silver
letting us back in
to life, to love, in shapes of
luna moth wings, fluttering.
excited joyful sparkling sprite
danced her way into my sight
luna moth loveliness in her flight
lifting the fey in an effervescent light
Burning a deep hole through unlit skies.
Leaving philosopher kings in complete astonishment.
Just another place to plant a flag never forgotten.
Form:
The moon shines down on a dune
Where a wolf has started to croon
For a female fights
To turn out the lights
Which are known to wrinkle a prune!
Luna, shine your light on our love
With breathless ardor from up above.

The moon is now bright
doesn't it cause such a fright?
I see glorious beauty
There is always light
In the darkest of places
When the full moon lights the way
she is star of the light show
in the ocean so deep full of delight
winking her luminous self into his water’s depths
he marvels at her willingness to shine

She said it was the only place to be in the spring
they fit in well
turquoise and green

Monocrostic (Birthday of Ely Mae V. Luna)
May we be blessed when we see a luna moth or a butterfly
(at the risk of sounding lyrical)
to be reminded how life is made up
of so many tiny little miracles
Llegaste como clara luz de luna llena,
para alumbrar tiernamente la oscuridad,
en la noche triste y cruel de mi soledad,
dando a mi vida tu resplandor, dicha plena.
día mata noche y noche duerme en
día, la muerte beneficia a la tierra, a los árboles
crecer como niñas
luego eclipse la luna
la primera explosión
de clavel rojo
There once was an unusual tuna
Charlie dreamed of sailing to the luna
Bought a huge water balloon
But along came a typhoon
Farewell Charlie, wannabe Kahuna
before the eyes
a crystal sphere
neon bright
new,
imaged in my glass
strange
a novelty to greet
each night,
even when unseen
the perfect rhyme
a poet's boon
Luna, rise
high
into the night
sky,
and ink its darkness
with golden beams of reflected light.
Light up
the ebony abyss
enveloping me.

Have a great birthday, dear Sarah,
Here's the age of prosperity;
Humans enter the new era
Of bigger opportunity.

MOON
Luna
in soft glow
Long strolls in moonlight
With romance shining through
Tender kisses, starry eyes
"Moon brings out romantic phases"
she leans flexibly
as a monarch butterfly or luna moth leans
standing against a backdrop of rainbow sun
a faerie such as the world has never seen
but immediately loves
Today I’m grateful for butterflies and luna moths…
how they easily deceive the naked eye….
How when we see them for a moment we believe…
there are flowers that can fly.
