a hundred degrees in Kansas
feels like two thousand degrees somewhere else
we cannot get comfortable
sweat is rolling down the small of our backs.

Lollygagging
Just the whiff of pink rose
growing outside my front door
brings my heart to my throat, stirs a desire
to don frayed cut-offs and white tee-shirt
and climb into the womb of my childhood fort,
to dream, to write, to lollygag to my heart’s content....

Premium Member My Natural Habitat
My natural habitat is outside
Why would anyone want to be anywhere else?
I had forgotten how peaceful it is
God’s sunlight saturates my pores in a loving way

I soak up the sun the way a cat does
Protecting my belly and lollygagging...

Afternoon Rain
Nothing
  Like, lollygagging by a waterfall
    Watching the clouds deliver
      A daytime, honey drizzler
        Falling in wet, misty, aerosol

Rain
  Invigorates
    Me
      Yea

Enamored
  As the heavens open wider
The afternoon sky takes a gander
      Showcasing, a freshwater
        Sun shower, water whisper...

Premium Member Find Your Passion
Puppies and kitties teach it in a frolicking way
We watch them rolling and lollygagging
Enjoying being alive, excited about milk
Love comes in many colors, shapes and sizes

Enthusiasm is a form of it; coaxing imagination
Delight and joy are found too
If you follow your heart, and find your passion
Self-love is essential if you are to have it with other humans....

To Loiter
The sign said not to loiter
But I’ve never understood
The assumption that a loiterer
Is up to some no good.

So I say to all the fritterers
Or lollygagging crowd –
You should stand your ground and dally
Just as if you are allowed.

Show the world that you mean business;
You’re not plotting something crazy.
It’s American as apple pie
To slack off and be lazy....

Premium Member We Have a New Boss
We have a new boss; the jungle association was told.
He is carefree and relaxed, and he looks raggedy and old.
I saw a new guy lying on his back, lollygagging in a tree.
I had no idea who this lazy interloper could be.

He’s the new boss said the tiger and a red bird.
That lazy dude? I thought this was insanely absurd.
Nothing made him angry, he was cool and calm as a tree.
After a while having a sloth for a boss seemed the best to me....
