Poetry,
not read with the eyes
or listened to with the ears
—when spirited through the soul
(Dreamsleep: May, 2020)
his voice was golden honey
she listened in the night
her heart played like a fiddle

Today I listened to too many ‘talking heads’
~ and now I’m brain dead
Edmund Clerihew-Bently,
In science class, listened intently,
Wrote biographies in four short lines,
Invented his own poetic designs.
Swarming into her own
She listened deeply
Ideas rendered her brilliant
I am back! She shouted
And she was
Until the next time….
Why is it that much of the time. Maybe most of the time. Those with the most to say of importance are listened to the very least. Why?
If only I had listened to you,
I would have told you what I heard,
I would probably be less hurt,
For the way you fulfilled her desire.
i heard
the sound of life
that beating heart
struggled to be listened
under your breast
undercover love
reveal yourself
to me...
Wish there was a petition
for books we want
to turn into a movie
if the movie producers
actually listened to us
that'd be sooo groovy!
whistle back to a bird you hear
you ought to share their cheer
you’ve listened to their voices and songs
giving back is where friendship belongs
New Zealand’s foaming red grasshopper
took a ride to Rome on a chopper.
Listened to Holly
With wife named Molly
Reminisced about the Big Bopper
When I began speaking of others
they listened
others glistened
-repositioned-
all of us
when sharing
we all grew
though
headaches from a few.
you really listened
face to face or during calls
wish Heaven had phones

When Orpheus sang on his flute
All Nature listened falling mute
But when Samson sang
It sounded like a bang
That sleeping babies woke up with a jolt
Knowledge whispered in hushed tones,
he listened in silence and concentration all honed,
he now whispers to others-who may or may not listen the drone.
You said
The things
We both new my heart needed to hear
Reluctantly,
I opened,
I listened,
I loved
So sad it is now,
That I am left wondering why?
Breath-sound-voice make words
They are listened to and heard
Their beauty takes wing
They speak their voice as they fly
Then burst as fragile balloons
There was a pilot called bush
Who flew by the seat of his tush,
His job was so tricky
That he listened to dicky
And silenced his critics with shush!
When you mention
The word tough that's
What she was, a lion
She kept the family together
Strong, tough and in order
And when she roared, everyone listened
In the impatient
audience...
was only
listened
any word,
when nobody
babbler
spoke...!
yours eyes were there
tell things i already knew
you lied
but eyes i listened to
not the voice saying no
your wyes were warm
but they brought so much harm
I listened to his sweet refrain,
How I loved his melody.
To my delight he sang again,
From the branches of a tree.
I imagined, that he'd sang for me.
Attentively to the whispers of the winds I listened to that nature's secrets revealed to my soul.

I believed in God when I was seven
But changed my mind when I turned eleven
I listened to the word but all I heard
Was those who claimed they'd only see Heaven
There once was a fellow named Lurch
Who attended a Cannabis church.
Lurch listened not to preaching;
For ignoring church teaching
He got stoned in a grove of birch.
