For Lindsay Laurie
Lindsay dear friend are you OK,
Australia is a long way away,
I’ll gladly paddle right across the pond,
If with a poem you soon don’t respond!...

You've told me some great methods
That have worked out quite well
I want to say thank you
For being so caring
And I'm happy that I'm sharing
That you're my friend
And always will be
For you are inside of me. ......

Lindsay Laurie
Know a sweet Aussie lady with two first names
Her parents were the ones that were really to blame
Didn't read the rules
Had it tough in school
But my limerick will bring her fortune and fame

On My Street
Spindly elbows skew
Laurie rides his rusty steed —
Owl eyes sparkle blue.
Blue-bottomed bees buzz
Through dappled dims, garden green —
Whispered perfume haze.
Twilight windows glow
Wispy wings are glass-dancing —
Gecko chuck chuck goes....

Right-Handed (Using the Opposite Hand)
(In response to: "There's an exercise where you write with the hand that is less dominant
that makes communication even deeper...." -Laurie Ginn)

Blackened Silhouettes Fill the Skies
Blackened silhouettes fill the skies
Take heed to coming wind and rain.
Listen to the swirling gull cries
No chance of weighing anchor now
My ship’s the schooner Laurie Jane
With a Neptune sprite at the bow.
We’re for Sumatra come first chance
A fine load of tea ours to gain
Waiting to sail is a dog’s dance
Now such heinous blackened skies rain.

Love Letter To Laurie
When you closed your hand about my hand,
A shivering bud that hid within my heart
Began to open,
‘MEN do not have FLOWERS in their hearts!’
I cried, in my mind,
‘CERTAINLY
MEN have LIONS!’
But the bud so softly nudged against my breast,
That I could not but pluck its opening grace
And offer it
To You,
Pure As A Smile…

Unreachable Daydream
Judgement will await,
A whim found of a young boy's
Unreachable age.
An urge to be grown,
A truth lost of an old man's
Unreachable youth.
Rapture will await,
A hope found of a flawed soul's
Unreachable birth.

Hypocritical Shel Alientated her Family
Shel was a pecksniffian, hypocritical goody-do.
Acted like most people were gum on her size ten shoe.
Her daughter Sue brought home a nice guy named Lonnie Lou
With pharisaical precision Shel lambasted him red and blue
A year later Sue ran off with Lonnie Lou to Kalamazoo
Shel has never met her granddaughters, Laurie Lynn or Linda Lou
She is not likely to ever meet them either, confided Sue
What she did to me, I will never let her do to my two....
