The Optimist

Better days are just ahead,
My ship is soon coming in.
If I quit now, what a waste it would be!
Better days are just around the bend!

Yosemite

Yosemite

Frozen precipice.
Just around the bend…watching.
The white valley rests.
Glistened by the noonday sun.
Famous mountain waters fall.

Sick of Waiting

They say he is just around the bend
I'm sick of pretending that I'm not
disappointed when he doesn't
appear again. All I've ever wanted is
for him to be near. Maybe I'll be
waiting forever. Maybe I will never
know how it feels to be loved by
another.

Faith Conquers Fear

Faith Conquers Fear

What keeps us going
Facing endless failure
And Never knowing

Is success next
Just around the bend
Or some other uncertain end

No promise no guarantee
But despite our sins
Faith always wins

Push on
Persevere
Faith conquers fear

So Unclear

Why am i here
Forced to live in the fear
Living each day
Trying not to be in the way
Talking with friends
Trying not to see bitter ends
Going to school
Trying not to be a fool
Looking for the reason
To be more than even
Searching for the end
hoping it is just around the bend
So why am i here
I wish the was more clear

Little Feet

they run around the house
yet they do not utter a whisper...
they pit pat down the street with sweet grass on their mind
and never once complain of the hot concrete
they step on nails and tacks and thorns
yet never speak of the cuts and bruises
they come in all shapes
all sizes
and they all long for the soft sweet grass
that lay just around the bend
and the grass makes it all worth it

Just Wait

The cars past by my door where do they go
Never stopping to say hello

People walking by staring at their screen
Like ants on a hill into they careen

Where are you going in such a hurry
Like calf’s to the utter is search of curry

What ever it is your desire
Your hast into the burning fire

Just sit and wait its just around the bend
It was there for you long before the end

A Great Poet

I'm a great poet and I know it
But my accolades don't show it
Like a tree in early bloom
In a forrest's winter gloom
Those around me see my glories
Read my work and love my stories
Tell me "publish, and I'll buy it"
Knowing I might never try it
And those outside my inner sphere
Never hear my good friend's cheer
But someday, just around the bend
The world will say, I knew him when

Premium Member Winter

it's winter now
The leaves have fallen
it's getting colder
the sun comes out
although a lot less bolder.

I walk outside
and I close my eyes
breathe in the smell
of the fireplace fires.

We barely had the turkey done
when the stores
hung their garland
saying Christmas had begun.

With a new year
just around the bend
I'm thinking of resolutions
like mini solutions
hoping to keep them
in the end.

The Water Runs Through Us

4-29-2012 The Water Runs through Us
The rain comes in waves, like that of tides of the sea,
Rolling with moss ,The river at the cross, the stones so smooth,
I take my first steps without you, with ease -deep in the groove,
It won't be long till I am gone, down the river- looking for the rain,
Smells like the ocean breeze, just around the bend,I breath free,
Nothing to lose,I have who I am, nothing more to gain.

Heaven Bound

The river winds just around the bend
I can't wait to see the majestic mountains
Made by God's precious hands
The sky is full of billowy clouds
Like cotton in the palm of my hand
Lord send down Your Spirit
Where hearts and minds then collide
Bless me with all of Your favor
Never from You will I ever hide
I see the meadow just below me
Oh my feet have left the ground
I now know God's calling me
And now I'm heaven bound

Premium Member The Ills of Us Humans

The future will forever be unknown Predicting what lies just around the bend There are so many variables Can ever be a stretch of the imagination To be imagined or be foreseen It's just not part of the human condition Oh well some things in life Are just not meant to be The colour of grass the leaves on the trees Varying shades of green The sky being a cerulean blue It makes the world such a beautiful place

You are a beautiful woman with nothing to fear.
Any man should know that he’d be lucky to have you.
Qualities you possess, the one for you will hold so dear.
Be certain, you will feel the same way for him, too.

We all find the meaning of commitment in our own time.
What hasn’t happened yet may be just around the bend.
Let positive thoughts outweigh the negative in your mind.
And remember, in me, you will always have a friend.

Promises

Promises, Promises
By Kevin Robey
March 20, 2014

Come on over my friend
While we still have time
Where battle scars end
Is where we will climb

It’s not too late
We’re not too old
Let anchors deflate
The lies we have told

We’ll settle down here
It’s much safer now
No monsters to fear
These dreams we allow

It’s ok to breathe my friend
No demons around this town
Life starts just around the bend
Promises that’ll never let you down

   Promises…

      promises…

Holiday joy, may it always remain to be yours!

Old-fashioned, fun-loving, cuddly, sleigh-ride tours.

Lots of hot apple cider, in mugs filled with happiness to drink!

It's the most holy birthday of The Christ Child!

Do attend Church, do be meek and mild.

Anticipate, family and dearest friends, at your door.

Yuletide greetings, be yours~Christmas is just around the bend!
