Yosemite

Yosemite

Frozen precipice.
Just around the bend…watching.
The white valley rests.
Glistened by the noonday sun.
Famous mountain waters fall.

You have written this poem, beautifully, about a place that is close to my heart. Yosemite was my father's childhood home....His dad was a guide in the park, and my father lived there for years. We love to go often, and I recall my dad's stories. Thanks for the reminder! Love, Carrie

Yosemite, sounds like a grand place Dane, enjoyed your poem. Dane, also thanks 4 your comment, and I am nothing like my poems. I own my own restaurant, I am 34 with a wild imagination. My latest slam is all for fun, honestly on this site I keep them to a (p.g. 13) level. I'm a mother and believe me I show my kids love not hate. I only use my poetry to defend when other poets provoke. I left it alone than Jimmy Anderson challenged me. The politic slam is for a contest. Thanks 4 the comments)p.d.

Oh my! I thought about writing about Yosemite, too. Truly our most beautiful national park. I have posters of it in my home. Beautifully written tanka, Dane Ann. Love you, Carolyn
