what beauty is?
and what is beauty
in a face – an algorithm?
in a flower – a Fibonacci design?
yet we all choose beauty
irrespective of deviation
from the arbitrary equation
we know and we love
we love and know
as jointly our love would grow
but who then decided what beauty is
when it’s in our eye?
and our eye sees the beauty
within
whilst our hearts
just knows what beauty is

as Sons and daughters
we come we adore you

I took a walk
along the bank,
a gentle, trickle flow --
(a soothing chatter)
We spoke of
gurgles and fizzy
bubbles; of slick
stones~ the glitter of
setters’ jewels, rubbed
to treasured perfection --
taking larger pours and
deeper swallows -- like mates
on a shore-leave binge -- in that moment,
stride increasing,
the stream now a jogger’s panting run --
we jointly realized
just how great our shared dislike
for industry and beavers….
New York has a brand-new law
And graveyards must comply;
Now pets and owners may be buried
Jointly when they die.
For dogs and cats no longer need
To languish in a grave
Intended just for animals;
Their owners simply save
The ashes of their favorite pet,
The feathered or the furred,
So when the owner’s time has come,
Together they’re interred.
What happens next we cannot know
But with this new endeavor,
Eternity will now provide
For scooping poop forever!
