A Friend

Be friend me noble comrade
And I will be no stranger
You bestow me not with danger
Your kindness will be blameless
Forward you do look at me
 Without confusion or a mess
Oh! I do take myself upon a plea
That I will never leave thee.
We will place our anguish jointly
Our ecstasy will cause a delight
You a friend, will wield both powers
To grasp all sensations
And in my anxiety of a fright
You always yield things bright
