A Friend

Be friend me noble comrade And I will be no stranger You bestow me not with danger Your kindness will be blameless Forward you do look at me Without confusion or a mess Oh! I do take myself upon a plea That I will never leave thee. We will place our anguish jointly Our ecstasy will cause a delight You a friend, will wield both powers To grasp all sensations And in my anxiety of a fright You always yield things bright
