The Temporary Imposter

Did someone ever promise you the moon?
You believed him on that starlit night in June.
Fate intervened, and it came to a painful end.
Love’s just a temporary imposter, and gone like the wind.

Unmasked

You won my vote with promises of peace

And vows to save our homes as jobs increased

     Special interests intervened

     Your slate seems no longer clean

Your mask falls, reveals the head of the beast

Life

The path I chose to walk in life
it wasn't what it seemed
I could have perished many times
but angels intervened...

All in all, I've been so blessed
my soul and spirit free
Regrets that never would let go
no longer trouble me...

Till Reason Intervened

I had nearly touched the spire
Wherein reason intervened--
And labeled hope a liar,
So the council then convened.

But the quorum in its meeting
Felt discourse a useless thing,
For hope is always fleeting...
Even with the slightest wing.

Tortoise and the Hare: Part V of a NEW Poetic Format

The hare expected to win and the tortoise knew he would lose--too much and too little of themselves, until fate intervened.

One sat under the apple tree until an apple fell on its head, and the other was on top of that tree, simply going out on a limb.

Ocular Shapes

Have i not intervened with the shape of the sea
Or vision vivid mountains with fish jumps
So pure the look like their soft skin
Forming shapes' never seen
Craving for more,

Ocular shapes surround us
Yet without we're still living

Tis Not Fair

Winter and spring had a tug of war
One wanted to stay
while the other wanted it to go
Winter said,... today I will snow
Spring said,... no you will go
Winter said,... I will bring a dark dreary day
Spring said,... there is no earthly way
They argued back and forth
Time intervened on the pair
They both cried, tis not fair.

He met her in Rome - 'twas love at first sight for him - but fate intervened

Sunlit Path-

I come across this path alone;
I chosen this trail this trail I've shown;
My footsteps are under me;
The wind the ground has now intervened;
The trees embrace me it won't let go;
Harboring the naturalistic nature's glow;
As the Moon is the light;
My shadow hides the sunlight is bright

Granny In the Home

Granny so often tried to roam
We had to take her to a home

Being new they had apprehension
Trying hard to give her attention

It sure was a bit of a fight
Stopping her leaning too far right

Suddenly too far left she leaned
Righted soon when a nurse intervened

When asked, "Are they doing their part?"
She said,"Yes, but they won't let me fart!"

Change of History

To walk on water was his conviction

Enjoyed the surf with great predilection

But the sea was too rough

And he called off the bluff

So The Lord delayed his wet addiction

When the ocean had sufficiently calmed

Jesus abandoned his hesitant qualm

But the sea intervened

Moses altered the scene

Two for one price and he went for Islam

Go In Peace and Sin No More

Called, 'Woman of Shame' Living life as she knew how Men secretly desired her, Women - gossiped; jeered No one offered true friendship Not one cared to ask her why. Stones gathered in hands The good 'Rabbi' intervened... He who has no sin, he said, Please, cast the first stone. As each one stole away, he turned, "Go in peace and sin no more". ~*~

Queen

She walked around in faded jeans, she looked like Halloween.

She was obscene, would act really mean. She was only in her teen's, it was all a smokescreen.

Til one day she was creating a scene, someone came and intervened.

And let her know, she don't have to be obscene nor demean because she's a true Queen.

Now she's in Magazines and on The Big Screen.

So if you are in your teen's or umpteen, love cuisine or come on like a marine.

Remember, deep inside there lies a Queen.

Being Thankful

Being Thankful
Recalling times when I knew youth
my prejudice was so uncouth
I’m thankful that I aged enough
as love outweighed that bitter stuff

when needed most I had accrued
a fortune to secure my life
but most of all I’m thankful for
to love and treat my ailing wife

To mentor souls that they may know
that God has intervened to show
his blessing and his gift to host
to aid me when it counts the most
