I could trace back in the past 
Since my disorganized mind can't handle all of the excitement 
I feel an urge to discover something new, but what's there to dig up?
I could explore a new terrain...but my mind can't keep up

I feel like traveling back in time
Perhaps I could have one more chance to change my past decisions
But it's just my imagination...soaked up in grubby grime 
The unbearable sense of impoverishment...ruins my ambitions...

In a few days, the rent is due.
Maybe my landlord does not know,
Postponing the obvious blow,
Or, delaying my outdoor view.
Visitors spew residents who
Evict themselves, due to no dough,
Rather than let compassion show,
Instantly stepping in my shoe.
Sooner or later, he will come
Here, expecting to get the rent.
Meanwhile, I will keep playing dumb,
Each time I am given a hint.
Now, I really feel like a bum,
Trying to savor my last cent....

That I know nothing.
We are but cattle,
If we don't look deep.
Know thyself
Or know naught.
Difference in hue
Disguises the divine spark
That we all share.
So you are my neighbour
And I must love you as myself.
Where you suffer,
So must I.
We are bound together,
Though we seem to be apart.
Your poverty
My impoverishment.
To make a better world,
Let us learn to know ourselves
So we will know the other better....

Inadequacy defines me.
Money is not my only lack,
Pinching, as pride slips through the cracks,
Overdrafting maintenance fees.
Vacancies have never been free.
Emptiness makes my sad soul slack,
Reduced beyond what you can stack,
Insufficiently, just to be.
Shortages abound all around.
Hardships are collected instead.
Meagerness charged my flesh a pound,
Exhausting my efforts in bed.
Necessity will make a sound,
Torturing my spirit, when dead....
