FLAWED VESSEL

I am a flawed vessel,
cracked in places
leaking light and shadow
in equal portion
Blemishes
breaks and chipped paint
and other imperfections
suggest repairs disturbing
what is perfect already:
perfect imperfection~~
I who am stubborn
stir moodiness in with pride
to snap out hurtful retorts
love and forgiveness,
tolerates imperfection
and remains married to me
No, my Lord,
It is not the perfection of Your creation that I dispute
But
The imperfection of mine!

Imperfection is beauty, flaws are art,
Purity is overrated, failing is understated,
Strange is innovative,
Battle scars make a soldier,
Perfect makes the heart colder,
Make mistakes, miss a shot,
Dare to fall, dare to try.

What makes us feel our inability?
is it our knowledge that
our imperfection
will be our downfall?
or is it that
we are in Gods image
but not his life
his perfection.
what is our
downfall
besides
death?
It hurts—
because you believed the lie.
It feels unreal—
because truth feels heavy.
In a world full of flaws...
why chase perfection?
You—
were never meant to be perfect,
only real.
And that alone—
makes you enough.
silver fortress standing tall
golden secrets kept within
arid desert does surround

treachery knocks upon the gate
armed with sweetest offerings
enters forth and loudly sings
