Bumblebees
Fat bumblebees work
on pink hydrangea blossom.
Pollen-stuffed britches.

Days grow shorter, blossoms fade.
Honey enough for the winter?...

monarchs dive in
hydrangea shakes her fluffy head
lilac takes the lead
embracing and hugging
bees take their sweet time
luxurious feasting, slurping, feeling loved

Premium Member Gone
into blue gardens
spurred by the beckoning sun
and fragrant lovelies

hydrangea bliss
too long gone, forget me not
sapphire cornflowers

songs through the grapevine
and irises navy blue
cobalt skies charming

azure clematis
a sense of what's been missing
lilac fragrances...

I love planting. I love digging holes, putting plants in,
tapping them in. And I love weeding, but I don't like
tidying up the garden afterwards. Jamaica Kincaid

Premium Member Painting the Bay
Admiring blue hydrangea blooms along the walkway,
as the salty summer breeze plays with my hair.
My easel and canvas set in front of my chair,
Sipping iced coffee while painting the bay.
A handsome gallery owner stops, asks me to lunch,
I know it's going to be a great day, just a hunch!

Premium Member We Are Flowers of Life
You are a rose, with prickly words and thorny ways.
Your life is hardy like a mum and a bit dull like one too.
My cousin is an orchid, delicate and bristly, brittle.
One strong wind could end her.

My twin is a sunflower, bright yellow with a friendly face
Greeting everyone with positivity and warmth.
I am a hydrangea, ready to change color,
Angrily waiting for the right plant food again....

Blooms of every shade of blue

Hydrangea
Multiplier and large blooms
Colors varied and depend on the soil ph
Hardy plants are hard to kill
Blooms all spring and summer
Until frost, you delight me
No need to fret for you
You never displease me
Your plant grows and thickens
Each year, you grow more beautiful
My delight is in your blossoms.
You stand for rebirth and eternal life.

Premium Member I Need Plant Therapy
I need plant therapy
begin planting mid May
annuals are brighter and prettier
but I usually plant perennials
because they reappear each year
the red geraniums are nodding to me
a gorgeous hydrangea gives me a nod
better have some Miracle Grow
I do not quite fill up my trunk
So I come back and get three more plants
the cashier smiles at me; she knows me well
Bet I’ll see you two more times today, she says
She is not wrong...

Hydrangea
Walking along these old country roads,
the path littered with jagged stones.
Flowing to the wind melody
adorning the side of the trail ahead,
the little stream gleams at them in jealousy,
the sweet fluttering white flower bed.

The early rising sun beams in pride,
At the flowers dressed like a bride.
Basking in the morning light,
they glowed. A truly, splendid delight.

Walking past as they waved to me,
I said farewell to the hydrangea sea....

In the dappled moonlight streaming through the window, just a purple bleed of hues, hydrangea shadows melt into the night and I sense their lavender stories; they whisper, we are the children of Mother Earth. she gifts our souls with vibrancy from birth. Come breathe our scent, come touch our brows, come share the gifts we’re given and giving; we’ll gladly share them now and you will revel in moonlight along with us.

Air is warmly scented with flowers and hydrangea blooms in blue,
Unusual birds and butterflies appear in beautiful colors and vibrant hues.
Gusty thunderstorms envelope with wild winds that cool the steamy air.
Ultimate country fairs and shopping excursions are found everywhere.
Strawberries, blueberries and blackberries are robust, sweet and fresh.
Take time to enjoy the last stretch of summer, a time to relax and refresh!...

Premium Member A Spotted Fawn
Rolling hills, alive with hydrangea and thyme
O'er cavernous quarries of sapphire and lime
Darting monarchs, tiger swallowtails
Artwork on the wing, a-lighting in the dale

A tender, spotted fawn startles awake
My awkward footsteps her slumber shakes
She pirouettes away, with virtuoso leaps
Each elegant stride, mine forever to keep

Sorrowed Flowers
~

falling beneath dark skies
no sunlight finds my face
lost within bramble and prickly thorn
tearing at my heart, shredding tiny pieces
what little remains that I can feel
broken branches splinter
wilted blooms release no scent
diluted hydrangea tear drops
weeping of loss, never ending
transparent silhouette faintly flutters
a butterfly fades into the shadows
disappearing from this place
where your smile once bloomed
as I cry with the sorrowed flowers…
