The Missing Tweet
Now is the time to hunker down
COVID-19 has come to town
Avoid your doom
Stay in your room
But just in case, wear a nightgown!...

When a storm is passing through
What do the sane and the sensible do
They hunker down until the crisis is past

Stimulating Pockets
They claim they care
How their bank accounts fair!!
As your health, to paramedics, they leave
Their next loan tranche to sieve

From curfew to lockdown we flit
As on their ample behinds, they sit
While the masses hunker down
The deep state's in town...

Cold World
Cold World
  Blizzards pass, storms ensue,
  Snowy paths, guide my view.
Where roaring winds are in pursuit,
my heart is where hope is imbued.

Laying the bedding, in earth’s full view,
I hunker down, and slumber ensues.
Where hope is, I am in pursuit,
For this cruel world is in need of review....

Hunker down people-nothing lasts forever.
stay at home until this Wuhan devil blows over.
it's not so bad... being home
You know the place you dreamed about
finally purchased with blood and calluses.

So man up-hunker down
there are airborne asps flitting about
man up-hunker down.
until this Wuhan devil blows over....

Taking No Prisoners Miracle Man 2/20/2023 In my early days, if you were my friend, I didn’t question things done or said, and rules I may have allowed to bend. But If my enemy, my thoughts were, don’t bother running up the white flag. Just hunker down like some cur. I could be as merciful as allowed to be, which was always my preferred way, or as merciless as I felt forced to be.

Sunrise shivers
slowly streaking
frozen fields
grasses huddled
against icy winds.

Silent sparrows
hunker down
awaiting the angst
of an unfocused
feeble warmth.

A cat scratches
timidly
at the door
pawing
a cold draft.

Somewhere
that pesky grey squirrel
slumbers
cradled
in its fluffy tail.

Softly
a reluctant sun
tints
hoar frost hard edges
with golden
promise.

The Performance
THE PERFORMANCE She’s a dancer ready to chronograph her next move. The chair is her boogie down stool. Her hand synthesis the groove. She looks as if her depths are being used. Her arm is amalgamated to the symphony sounds in the room. She squats in a hunker down pose to expose her sensual core. Yes, she desires to be an instrumental part of the performance. _______________________________________________________| Written February 27, 2016!

Hunkered Down Written: by Miracle man 3-26-2020 We currently are facing an uncertain future, nothing like my eighty-one years has seen yet. Wounds beyond closing with staple or suture, providing the world reasons, for many to fret. Let our faith assures us that “this too shall pass” and until that happens we must all hunker down. individually it seems worse for the aging class, prayer won’t cause glower but reduces your frown.

Social Distancing (on St. Patrick’s Day) Written: by Miracle Man 3-17-2020 Today i had intended to be robed in green, And yet I sit at home under self quarantine. COVID-19 has caused unusually rough sledding, Trying to avoid, perhaps some super spreading. This self isolation, brings to my face a frown, But by those knowing best, I’m urged to hunker down. While many work feverously, behind the scene, I’m a fusty old man not wearing any green.

Premium Member A Snow Day Comes
A Snow day comes.

Snowfall impedes our mobility.
Now some venture out to test their ability.
Our streets and yards are pristine white.
We're trapped 'neath Winter's cold, grey light.

Don't venture out on a day like this,
As Old Man Winter shakes his fist.
You wait for the snow plough, this is no jest.

Come bake some cookies or play a board game;
Or shovel the walk way till you've got the blains.
Most hunker down by the fire to stay warm.
Even rabbits stay in on this chilly morn.
Sigh!...

First Shall Be Last
don't live today
what was learned
learned well once
can't be unlearned

stuck in a rut
thoughts bouncing
bound train tracks
one way ticket

purchased years ago
for this line only
now still validated
long lost reasons

don't confuse me
by words or action
hunker down hide
not a drop of truth

will i drink today
pound if you must
defenses multipy
since you're not aware

that i don't know
but a peak shows
i've seen your hand
you write the last line

LAST SHALL BE FIRST...
