Premium Member My Favorite Day of the Year

My favorite day of the year is Halloween most definetly,
because it's the one time of year when everyone else wears a mask other than me.

There once was a Halloween party
All of the costumes there were naughty
I tried to be cute
Wearing my birthday suit
And won the prize for costume most gaudy

Premium Member Bloody Mary

A young dead woman named Bloody Mary
for Halloween dressed as the good fairy.
At the mirror she beamed.
No one let out a scream.
BUT many still had dysentery!

Call Me Cousin

I'm short and most costumes don't fit
Halloween found me in a snit
But I have my answer now
I just comb my long hair down
Add glasses and I'm Cousin It

Bad Ghoulish Goblin

There once was a bad ghoulish goblin.
Thump, thump on a crutch he was hobblin’.
It was Halloween night.
He dared to give a fright.
But he fell to the ground; he was wobblin’.

Premium Member Halloween Night

It's Halloween night.
Wispy clouds across the moon
Make an eerie sight.

The chill in the air,
The sound of a howling wolf,
Send shivers down spine.

All sounds amplified
Walking alone in the dark.
Nerves a tingle.......Boo!

A Halloween Couplet

Ghost and Goblins,
Witches in tow.

Who is the scariest,
I really don't know.

As the moon rises,
There are many surprises.

At my front door,
Hands out asking for more.

Just peek in,
And reach in.

It's Halloween fare,
Take more if you dare.

Premium Member On All Hallow's Eve

unseen in forests
creepy crawly things slither. . .
inhabiting night

miles from the black woods
bolder creatures (upright) flit. . .
whooping in the streets

woods seem eerier
towns' garish beasts seem wilder. . .
and strangeness prevails

All Hallowed Eve

Scary faces peer
Down the eerie pumpkin paths
Doorbells ring from fright

All the boys and ghouls
Spooky creatures of the night
Undead creep around

Keep those goblins safe
As they fill those bags with treats
Welcome Halloween!

Ghosts and Ghouls Come Out

On Halloween, all hallows eve
Ghosts and ghouls come out
But not to do their evil work
They just want to stroll about

They can mix with the living
At this one time of the year
And not be discovered
Or cause screams of fear

They just mingle with fleshies
All through Halloween night
Enjoying the company
But are gone by first light

Halloween Poem # 26..Death Goes A-Creeping

Up the alleyways creeps Death
Hoping to take your last breath

Darkly cloaked and demon-eyed
You had better run and hide

Searching high and searching low
Death shall strike the final blow

In every dark corner he looks
All the crannies,all the nooks

If he finds you you're all done
There'll be no place left to run

So on Halloween be extra fast
Or else that night might be your last!

Premium Member My Halloween Horrors

Witches so surreal
Silhouettes upon the moon
Flying on broomsticks

Jack-o-lanterns : smile
Through the flames of Hell, inside
Feigning , frightful sighs

Spooky ghost run by
On moonless Halloween nights
I, cower in Fear

Ghosts and Goblins all astir.
Dressed up in her mama’s fur.
S’posed to be a burly bear
But there’s a little girl in there.
Mommy and Daddy having fun
With this child that’s only one.
Asking for treats, no tricks in mind.
Loaded with loot of every kind.
Grandmas and grandpas, uncles and aunts
Give this sweet bear anything she wants.
Jack o'lanterns lead to next candy foray.
Who's having more fun on this Halloween day?

Premium Member Halloween Costume

I'm not so very evolved you see
For Halloween this is what I'll be
Dressed in brown from head to knee
With huge red lips for all to see

Big white socks on hands and feet
Eyes painted black look so neat
Red yarn top-not flopping down
And tail a'dragging on the ground

No darned banana for this beast
Candy corn my favorite feast
A Sock Monkey doesn't seem so scary
Perhaps I'll attack my friend Larry

Apologies once more to Larry Belt...

All Hallow's Eve

Orange and black kitty cats
Adorn the school hall walls
Candy sales and costume days
Announce the start of fall

Golden leaves falling down
Littering the street
Full moon howl, chilly winds
Spooky spirits meet

Scary movies will premier
On every TV screen
Frightening masks and vampire teeth
Like none you’ve ever seen

Find a bag, put on your suit
In the hopes of a good fright
To trick-or-treat up and down your street
On a spooky Halloween night

Halloween Poem # 27...Doing a Doubletake!

Witches,ghouls and other spooks
Consort on Halloween night
All the ghosts and gobbledygooks
Are giving us quite a fright!

Up the darkened streets they go
Into hidden spaces
With their eyeballs all aglow
On their scary faces

You can run but you can't hide
They will seek you out
Best that you just stay inside
As they creep about

But wait! Let's take a closer look
At these immortal souls
Watch as the creatures we mistook
Reach into our candy bowls!

Those Little Darlings

Those little darlings
With their angelic eyes
Look harmless enough
But beneath their disguise

They’re nothing but thugs
With pure evil intent
These spawn of Satan
Are not heaven sent

These foul blackguards
Going about their sport
They say “Trick or treat”
As they happily extort

They squirt fake blood
On my front door
They egg my new car
I can’t take any more

I sit counting the minutes
Am I the only one?
Who just can’t wait
Till Halloween is done
Form:

All Hallows Eve

Such eager fingers, from skeletal hands
Glowing eyeballs scan parched lands
Howling winds that scrape the sky
Bat-ish chatter as on they fly

Pumpkins glow to mark the way
For spirits seek to rise and play
Shady windows hide wicked smiles
Black cats prowl with patient guile

Stalking wolves find willing game
Witches cackle ‘round rising flame
Thunder cracks and lightning gleams
Day of the Dead, it’s Halloween!
