Nature's clock bids me

Written Down

My name is written down
Signed in blood, the blood of the lamb
It's highlighted in gold
Underlined in bold
Circled in blue
For God's Word is true

Mehndi

she wears on her skin
the perfect girl of his dream
her highlighted crown
conflates an embellishment
emitting fashion design

Conspicuous

Smoke harboured in my eyes
Testing my diffused sanity
Gritty and alluring in its guile
Only highlighted stark reality
Overboard, in an unruly file
I became more tuned to my destiny

Spiritual Mentor

I read and study my father-in law's old Bible

Tattered, written in , highlighted, never left idle

Each time I pick it up, I think of this spiritual man

He's smiling when I read from it as often as I can

Clerihew Zinkeisen

Two portaitists Anna&Doris Zinkeisen*
in the 20's were preferred to men
Their paintings highlighted at the R&A
what a scandal it caused in that day

A Woman With Brilliance and Beauty

She is from Nairobi, a highlighted nation of luminaries
A country that encourages the education of women
She has her masters and her PHD but none of that matters
When the men see how beautiful she is, they discount her brilliance.

Modulation

MODULATION
an
echo
of awareness
preserved
&
surrounded
in
conscious
imagination
in
excerpts
of
inspiration
with
a sense
of
endless charm
&
bravura

elaboration
  contemplated
meditatively
explored
then
exploited
highlighted
in
pathos

Night Is Hiding

"Darkness has been hiding,
A moon that is smiling

Down at you,
Who knew

Your day was good,
As I hoped it would

Positive moments strung together,
Highlighted by sunshine and good weather

Building confidence each and every day,
To have your life your way"

Violaceae

Sunny yellow face
Highlighted by deep purple eyes
Tiny yet determined
Standing strong through cold
Fighting to shine in the shadow
Nothing there at all
Then, suddenly you appear
Leaping into view
To brighten the world
From Spring until Summer's end
My Johnny-Jump-Up

Trauma Bonding With Darkness

recognising our default orientation as trance purity of silence too scarred by thought spirals our presence neither immanent nor transcendent yet deludedly affirms meaningful dwelling in darkness akin to the irony highlighted in Plato’s allegory of the cave

DRINK IN A BOWL

Sake highlighted
imprinted upon a mind...
composure in art

DRINK OF WISDOM

Wry wisdom from rice...
the land of the rising sun
fluorescent pomp

CAPTURED

nature captured in a bowl
taste intensified

Dream

Perfect lips pouting
Red pink as if lightly touched by strawberries
Eyes compelling drawing in the masses
Brown the color of honey, warm and inviting
Hair flowing wind blown
Brown black, lightly highlighted perfectly shiny smelling like heaven
You are the perfect dream woman
Two races, three races, maybe more
Mix Chick.

Overcoming

A glow in the sky, captured the distant horizon
Highlighted with streaks of pale pink and dark gray
As night crept in, a frozen layer of snow shined bright white
                     - through the darkness -
Prominent, compelling,
        Then, overcoming...whatever nightfall brings...

Pretty Christmas Hobby Horse

We all stared at the pretty Christmas hobby horse
Wondering who would get it, guessing in vain
There were eighteen of us grandchildren
Most of us knew we were way too old for it
Still, it enticed us with its decorated beauty
Highlighted by grandma’s gorgeous bubble lights
I think we were all relieved it was staying at Grandma’s.

Porous Paranormal Bleeds - Day 23

like leering leopard
feeble flesh flicker
sassy spots smirk
scorching saucy surge
punctured passion puke
per prey's view

taunted tongue elated
eerie emotions elevated
dangling deer highlighted

porous paranormal bleeds
crushing callous creed
severing saucy speed

Sprint hoisted heel:
my siveness' spree.

The Reason Is

The reason is

Once opened please consume within three days
that's what the smudgy printed label says
'Best before' highlighted in big letters
for after that it won't get any better.
'Use by' is not for info, it's a warning
so you must eat it all up by the morning
You make sure that it's all gone by the date
then wonder why you don't lose any weight.

Time

Dead ye lie
dead ye rot --
human thy lot

Dead ye rest
dead ye soar --
spirit on a weightless
tour

as all sought
little man will find --
whether earth or sea
a puzzle of clouds,
highlighted edges
joining

stars above
our distance measures

Time, alone, decides

if lifeless waste~ or eternally

evolving heartfelt treasures...

A Snowy Night

A doe and her mate tempt the fates wind driven snow what a delight... new white blossoms on barren bushes over large hats overhang on hoary old buildings highlighted branches on majestic leafless trees magical silence in the quality of light a blanket of white pulled up to nature's chin perchance to dream a new tomorrow... a new day

Hair Is Beauty

Hair is beauty
We get it fluffed, curled, died, fixed
We get it highlighted, lowlighted, razored,
But what if we lose it?

Let’s say our hair is gone
It has all fallen out
Are we still beautiful?

Are babies not beautiful?
Are seven-year-olds who have cancer not beautiful?
Are gorgeous women who are taking radiation not beautiful?

Hair is beauty
But should it be?

Purple Favorites

Purple lilac bloom scents in spring
Purple wild flowers summer brings
Purple butterflies’ fluttering wings
Purple finches’ chorus they joyfully sing

Purple black raspberry ice cream treats
Purple colored hair highlighted in streaks
Purple printed scarves that look so sheik
Purple grapes that taste juicy and sweet
