Overcoming

A glow in the sky, captured the distant horizon 
Highlighted with streaks of pale pink and dark gray 
As night crept in, a frozen layer of snow shined bright white
                     - through the darkness -
Prominent, compelling, 
        Then, overcoming...whatever nightfall brings...
