No Date

He brought candy for his mate
But didn't take her on a date
She left him high and dry
Not even a good-bye
And found a newly snail-mate

Sol Had a Bowl

Sol had a bowl that fell from the sky
He pulled the wool over a bull's eye
The bull could not see
The bowl was empty
In spring it kept the bull high and dry

Where would the South Koreans be
If the USA had left 'em high and dry by '73

And can you imagine West Germans' lives
If America had cleared out by '75

But 20 years for the Afghans was just too long
Who else think the Boomers got it wrong

Goodbye Laura

Divorcing the Muse,
  her property demands were high

The alimony my insight,
leaving me speechless, high and dry

Once the papers were signed,
it was the last I was to write

Visitation denied
   —monthly support payments in light

Fated Current

Are you the latest one I’ve left alone,
heart Shanghaied—no goodbye

Are you wondering why as questions loom,
the answers high and dry

Were you sure you’d be the only one,
to wade misfortune’s tide

As that fated current pulled me back
—to drift again untied

Not Meant To Be

I guess it wasn't meant to be, you and me. You played with my head, now all my emoitions are dead. I feel lost and afraid, what a mess you've made. I thought you would be here forever, but i guess you think your're pretty clever.

You left me high and dry. Now all i do is cry. Hope you are pretty proud of yourself, for now my heart is placed upon a shelf.

Thank God, It's Friday

I'm on an island marooned a lonely castaway beached at the waterline launching bottles out to sea abandoned high and dry my boat went down it ran aground but wait what's that I see can it be a footprint in the sand someone to lend a hand my ship's come in it's at the quay no more sending signals from the shore the weekend's here to rescue me

Gone Away

its so cold here since you left me high and dry
take these burdens off your chest cause god's given you wings to fly
dont know why im sittin here feeling so alone
guess it goes to show you just how much i've grown
leave me alone memory is what i want to say
cause if i forget you then you'll always be gone away
keep you in my memory never let you stray
so i dont forget you and you'll never go away

Cup of Joe
Cut to the chase
Between a rock
And a hard place
Back to square one
Piece of cake
Dime a dozen
Truth is stranger than fiction

Cold turkey
Down and out
Down for the count
Down to Earth
Drawing a blank
Easy as pie
Eat my hat
Go for broke
Truth is stranger than fiction

Hands down
Happy as a clam
Hard pill to swallow
High and dry
Head over heels
Toe to toe

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Dancing Duck

It sucks!
Quacked the duck
I wanna dance the shuffle
yet all I do is waddle
When I cha-cha cha
My beat's kinda blah-blah
Once, I did the moon-walk
It led to raucous squawks…

I’m feeling high and dry
With one thing left to try
The pals say I oughta
go waltzing on the water ~

Oh how I spin and glide
I’ve really found my stride
A smooth electric slide!

Haze

Haze
July 14th, 2012
By: Sami LaRose

I'm high and dry and dying is a trend these days
In the dark days of November is
where I'm most okay
Lost in the cold without a soul, when it is okay to be alone
It's in the summer where things get funnier
I start to run away
I hide in corners and lurk in the shadows until the sun goes away
And night time is the right time to go out and get away
It's nice in the dark, the sun is too hot for someone who's always in a haze

Songs of a Dark Dawn

Yesterday we
caught rainbows and
      we learned
  that the waters
     of time
               may leave
us high and dry
       Does it bother
you to learn
     that our cool
eyes have turned
                inwards
Does it bother you
        to know
   that ice and steam
  are opposites?
Well - dance with
          me
on clouds
  Kiss me as we
watch
      the moons
   circling the planets
This solar system is our home!

Premium Member High and Dry In Phoenix

I once met an interesting fellow from Phoenix
He delighted in practical jokes and playing tricks
His favorite was loudly telling
His ex-girlfriend is proudly selling
Her voluptuous body in pornographic flicks.

Of course, the clever Phoenix guy was telling a lie
Another of his telling weird stories on the fly
The truth, he was always buying
What His ex-girlfriend was trying
To sell him, leaving him broke in Phoenix high and dry.

Fix the gasket
Let leaking stop;
Be high and dry

All in good time
Job said and done;
Contract anew

Words flirt
Wisdom hides;
Not much action

No one sees
Blind man cries;
Visual impact gone

Work day blues
Too much stress;
Multi-tasking ventures

Success lives here
In the zone;
Relax and worry

Too much
Too little;
Too late now

O Baby, Please Don'T Cry

What is the point?
To make such a big hue and cry

Check inside your heart
and see what you fried

You shall reap
what you have sowed

Nobody will do wrong
unless you have done something wrong

All blameworthy plea their innocence
only God is the witness of their virtuousness

May be their ego rule over them
behind the smoke screen they dwell in helm

O Baby, please don’t cry, do some introspection
Before time is up and repentance becomes high and dry.

Premium Member A Kiss Under the Mistletoe

He stood for hours 'neath the inviting mistletoe,
But nary a gal took notice of his miserable woe!
He smiled and made goo-goo eyes as they passed by,
But they just tittered leaving him high and dry!

He slyly pointed to the mistletoe with a silly grin,
But this didn't impress a soul, much to his chagrin!
He shifted from one foot to the other still hopin'
When to his horror he discovered that his fly was open!
