Premium Member A Harlequin In Mississippi
A harlequin in Mississippi
His father a priest, his mother a hippy
He gives sermons for hours
While she waltzes through flowers
He finds them quite far out and trippy

A mischievous Harlequin whispered in my ear;
Of everything he said that night, I don't recall
His honeyed, sibilant voice to me not clear,
o'er his chequered self, a hazy mist did fall....

Pearl-Prayer

When harlequin herbs bask in jeweled forests, do you hear me?
ferrying upon pearl-prayers, seeking warmth in doe's walnut eyes,
I'm the last of seven souls ~ before heaven's hyacinth gates.

Coming Up the Stage
Before hitting the first step.

The harlequin turned is grotesque face up to me,

-He had the power to charm or frighten weak souls-

and asked mockingly:

You ready for the play? Poor Fool!

You ready for the rebirth? Poor Fool!...

Everyday
I am defined by,
Those everyday,
Interactions.
They seep,
Into my,
Skin.
Leaves me,
Feeling branded,
Scarred.
People are,
Dancing in,
Masks.
On harlequin,
Invisible strings,
Tangled.
Knotted together,
Hanging limp,
Lifeless....

Harlequin Right
A mannequin stands
in the neon of night
head slightly canted
harlequin-right
fashionably clothed
in the brand-names of youth
arms shiny rods
with no digits forsooth
if able I think
his thumb he would raise
and he’d give me a wink.

Fortitudes Ardour
Could you blame the American dream
Plastic coast to coast
A Harlequin pawns himself
Enterprise gone mad
Ply the rebop
The spirit of 1973
Corporate Lawyer loathed to tell the truth
A confident already foretold
Fortitudes' ardour
doomed to quieten itself...

Summer Storms
There is a rumbling on the rafters,
a subtle pounding drum beat on the roof,
flashing in the skies, harlequin spoofs
a light show awesome and frightening ever afters,
the summer storms drift in then race
slow and steady in their pace
ready for the earth to be displaced....

Harlequin
Turn your cheap tricks; And we all turn our backs, Nobody will laugh at a jester like that. Your black and your white, Now an unrighteous grey, It seems there's no call for a joker today. You can play to the devil And the fallen kings too... Who else would have time for a fool such as you?

CHILDREN’S CORNER

a time when fear
can be such fun –
these children
gathered round a
jack in the box

a time when kids
SCREAM!
at nothing
such wild fearful
anticipation

a time to search
the depth –
how is jack dressed?
Is he evil eyed?
or harlequin?

but a split second
and all magic lost
when – POP!
up comes
JACK IN THE BOX!

Harley Quinn,
Harlequin.
Evil twin.
Don't cross her.
You won't again.
She uses a Slugger.
Louisville bat.
The Joker dumped her.
A very Mad act.
Ms. Quin's not chagrin.

She runs a Rhino.
A big Sixty D.S.
Was in on that deal.
To end the Enchantress.
She's been there and back.
No pretense yet a fact.
Harlequin is a genius.
She'll easily escape prison.
It Seem's as Ms. Quinn
Sees with split vision....

Premium Member Pears Harlequin
(Glorified Pear Honey)

The lowly pear,
no zip, no burn.
Major juice, anemic flavor.

Add orange and lemon for bite.
Grind all to blend.

Add sugar for sweetness,
cook, covered, in 200 degree oven,
eight or more hours,
as you sleep.

Upon awakening,
add maraschino for color,
seal in sterilized jars,
store in pantry.

Pear Honey
on morning toast,
grants a baklava morning,
without the fat.

Harlequin is moody and sad Columbine is acting crazy again His behaviour was extremely bad Readily accepting part of the blame. Difficult Columbine plays hard to get She's furious with his mad antics Plotting revenge to make him regret Before long she will have him frantic. Harlequin decided he would make-up He bought an expensive bouquet Columbine looked and muttered yuck She definitely has "feet of clay".
