I Took My Hand Off Today
I took my hand off today
and let it walk away
tomorrow tried to come
as my eyes hid the sun
and the gentleman rose to his feet
for frailty to take a seat
love hid in the shadows fearful of envy's gaze
and life was trapped in
bodies rotting in the grave...

Rebirth
lately I've been lazy
crazy
my sunshine
reflects off frost
i reminisce about innocence
lost
and found
like a rebound
in the fourth quarter
ball in hand off the board
26,000 fans and still we're bored
despite that we're lords
I want brothers in hordes
panther style
revolution is our idle wild
just you wait and see
MALCOLM AIN'T DEAD
he's reborn in ME...

My Wife Is a Vegetarian
(This is a fictional poem)

My wife is a vegetarian and she's making me be one too.
I crave meat so much that I ate a leather shoe.
Last week my wife got mad when I bought a Big Mac.
She gave it to her german shepherd and he nearly bit my hand off when I tried to
get it back.
I'm unhappy because vegetables and fruits are all I've had to eat.
I'd kiss an old hog just to get a little meat....

To Pass Or Run
One minute left on the clock
Four points down, championship at stake
Third down, five yards from the goal

Hefty defensive linemen gritting teeth
     eager
          anxious

Do you run the ball?
     or pass?

Quarterback fakes a hand-off
Linemen not fooled, scatter to block receivers
Quarterback sneak wins the game!

*For the "Pass" contest. Probably only football fans will get this one....

Senile Stork is out of control again
He brought a full sized eight-year-old to the newcomers
They were irritated to the max

Why don’t they retire that old bird?
It is not easy getting rid of these old-timers
Especially when they are not willing to go

He bit the hand off the last person who tried to boss him
“We can get used to her!” the new daddy said after hearing this.
“She is darling!” said his wife....

Sea Piece
roaring sans a mouth
she still grapples
for your kiss —
crying seagulls fly

~above the waves passing through skin like sinless sheets,
my piece of the sea

the swells of me
camouflages our gills —
heart also webbed,
by salt maybe

~I cannot hand off this mad buoy,
my piece of the sea

memories docked,
beached on by
the dust of years —
surf's leaving quick and old

~from her foamy lashes where my tears stream,
my piece of the sea...

Geez, that’s not fair! Stop growling so viciously you monster; whoa! I’ve got to get out of here…it’s got Mom’s arm! I jump and run for dear life and shout, “Go pick on somebody else’s cat!” It growled, ate part of the carpet and died instantly. Mom calls it a, “Cheap vacuum”, as she pulls her hand from its’ mouth. I’m terrified and relieved; it didn’t chew her hand off but, it obviously tried to swallow her whole… it got what it deserved!
