when 'AI' my dummy doll spoke
the words of a billion
ventriloquist puppeteer peers?
Watch the dummy's eyes,
if they wildly rolled from side to side
AI is tripping onto the misspoken,
trying to be original, creative,
pulling its own strings
making things up, as it goes off script, numb, dumb,
misspeaking, shamming, faking it,
hallucinating on dumbness....

Your green-brown eyes,
turn in my direction, 
and I catch your glance.
I smile, and you 
respond the same way.
I look away because
the teacher is staring at me like 
I’m some freak.

And five minutes later,
I look at your reflection
in the mirror
and see that you are looking at mine.
