Faced Example
A fridge full of food
for some shiny apples
The bun to a meat
of a cheese that grapples

The soul for a man
of a hunger ample
The chase to a light
of a door for sample

That love is a food
for a trod to trample
And haste for a mood
of faced example...

Finesse seeds sensations:
Movement in creation
Purpose primes direction.

Draw closer now to seed:
Feel beauty grace fond need
As visual moments speed.

Address life's ample glow:
Wise focus grapples show
As fragile pleasures grow.

Soft words curl
Leapfrogs loud
Heavy lift

Soft sense knows
Discerns well
Poignant poise

Soft tell works
Grapples gist
Notice lures

Soft moods cast
Reveals more
Lavish zest

Soft moves plain
Subtle touch
Amply fond

When a man climbs a mountain
Or zooms into space,
When he meets a dilemma
Looks it straight in the face,
His head held high
He faces the sun
Meeting the challenge
Till victory is won.

When a man storms the walls
And fights for his right
When he takes to the task
With all of his might,
He grapples with courage
He conquers his fears
The sign of his splendor
Is reflected in tears....

Be blooming boss
Greasy grime gloss

Make moments move
Grief grapples grooves

Ply petty poise
Niche nurtures noise

Dare dreamy daze
Catch crumbling craze

Sense stupid stay
Pick piquant pay

Symbols sign stains
Pronounce plain pain

Wise words work well
Dance drowsy dwell

Mind minions may
Doom dying day

List lonely loss
True trifles toss

Sea Piece
roaring sans a mouth
she still grapples
for your kiss —
crying seagulls fly

~above the waves passing through skin like sinless sheets,
my piece of the sea

the swells of me
camouflages our gills —
heart also webbed,
by salt maybe

~I cannot hand off this mad buoy,
my piece of the sea

memories docked,
beached on by
the dust of years —
surf's leaving quick and old

~from her foamy lashes where my tears stream,
my piece of the sea...

Sad sorrow speaks
Primal pain peaks

Feel feelings frame
Nasty nude name

Lovely lines leak
Sultry sense speaks

Mad mellow moods
Glimpse grapples good

Sad story signs
Apt art aligns

Prize pretty poise
Claim charming choice

Wonder works writes
Chase crafty cites

Touch trickles tears
Note nasty near

Sharp splinters stroke
Pungent prompt poke

Last laughter lost
Crave clusters cost

Night rewrites day, transforms the blues
with ink-wash, urges me to forget

grapples, tasks, drudgery,
hard surfaces and hardened people as all things

soften, lighten, blur— even gravity pulls less
as if the world’s core has pardoned the hefty afternoon.

Sheets pouch this body, pillows
accept every sigh. Sleep is a leave-taking,

a poetic restoration of sense and mindfulness.
Faultless, this need to submit, this appeal to let go. Just let it go....

In the Valley of the Mountains
I step into the new day.

Standing,
in the valley of the mountains,
The red dawn predicts change.

Inside, a cloak of darkness hangs.

Daniel sits,
confused,
in his brown reclining chair.

Birds cut low through the morning sky.

Knowingly,
Earth follows the Laws of Nature,
rain will soon fall.

Lingering,
he grapples with mortality,
as death's cloak falls over him.

The storm breaks hard.

I cry,
in the valley of the mountains,
where the dawn predicts change....
