She looks at the grand piano, wonders what might have been if she learned years ago a few songs

The Dance

Serenity unfolds ~
   Upon a pond
      of gentle calm,
He dances in clear moonlight ~
To an unheard grand piano,
   He glides
     along his crystal floor ~
Moving in a peaceful rhythm,
In his white tuxedo.

                                              Like a large grand piano
On which I play all the keys
                                             For his enjoyment I touch

Premium Member When the Lobster Plays Grand Piano

Dragging our lobster claw
haphazardly across rows of ivory song
scratching both beautiful and hideous notes
throughout our lives-somehow, we stayed afloat-

Racing the foaming mouth of death.
Polishing up melodies of opaque regrets...
High tide, swallowing a lobster claw
and a grand piano bench.

Premium Member Master Classes - a Kimo In Three Stanzas

Master classes were held in East Sussex
and the Sussex girl played tune
with ease to her master.

She played the grand piano all the day
and the master hummed along,
time barely noticing.

People thought they were having an affair,
as nobody else took part
in the lessons grandly.

Premium Member Baby Grand Piano

The notes move with the pumping of my heart
Inspiring me to approach things with a new start
I love the piano, as it always soothes me
Takes me away to special places I want to be
My soul will always embrace the sweet melody
Help me discover the new things I want to see
I’d love to have a white baby grand someday
Something remains with me for my dream to stay

Music from an Empty Room

A straight-backed chair shadow-plays
a dark cello,
while emptiness falls
as heavy as a rain cloud.

An oak wood floor creaks
as a spectral bow
is moved by a shifting light.

The room once harbored a grand piano
it plays now to the mindful,
yet only as a distant echo,
a long past refrain

heard once more as a nocturn
for a whippoorwill.

Massive Blanket Effervescence

massive blanket effervescence
perfect path back to divine
baby grand piano rhythm day
the perfect time to watch the way you sway
colors of love are like a warm soup blizzard day
i am stuck in the comforting, cozy house of your heart
never wanting to leave
too bad tomorrow will be monday one day,
but for right now....we just got here....so let's just enjoy the green day debut of each other

She Lived For Music - Contest

music was her life until that fatal day
when that driver plowed into her

now in a vegetable state she lies there
a smile sometimes passes over her face
I see a finger move seemingly to tap
it is dancing to music we never hear

maybe she is back at her grand piano
playing to wide audience again
a concert pianist with music in her soul
she lived for music, now music keeps her alive.

LEND LEASE
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

As I Gaze over My Earthly Possessions I Smile
I’ve Accumulated These Assets During My Trial
It Was a Dedicated Effort to Amass These Things
Palatial Homes, Grand Piano, Diamond Rings

Once, I Thought All These Earthly Objects Were Mine
Reality Exposed Veracity with the Passage of Time
Others Are Quite Jealous at All the Things I Own
I Know All These Objects, Here, Are Simply on Loan

Premium Member Pride of Place

At the heart of our main living room Shines the majestic pride of our beloved home On carpeted tiles, stands a bride-like piano with a groom Playing my favorite classic songs from the new album. Its mellow sound lifts me up into the sky Feeling floated on air, sweetly dreaming so high Making me feel so in love which I couldn’t deny Oh, harmonic grand piano, to you we completely rely.

Premium Member Losing Love

My rainbow's on fire up in the sky,
The flames are emotional pain.
The colours of hurt fall in a storm,
Fall in a colourful rain.

And her thunder sips coffee in a future of doubt,
A future of quiet torment.
The stallion, the bull's now a broken down dog,
The grand piano just got up and went.

Deep down I know my hurricane of love,
Won't kiss the harp that it once knew.
My bandit of love has ridden away,
Leaving my rainbow a shadow of blue.

Practice

Grand piano for hands that take command,
Speaking keys and rods and hammers,
Striking true, softly, felt on steel strings,
Felt of the soul dreaming, laughing,
Ringing, as it vibes into the wood
The do-able dong! of indelible swellable song,
The fusable ding! of how thinly and fragible thing,
The beautiful beat of repeatable needable gain---
The phrase that skips in the sky---
"Undefeated too, am I!"
Ringing, hammering, playing,
Again and again and again!

Premium Member A Man Is Playing Beethoven

In a huge open field,
lay the pristine new snow;
and beyond a mountain view.

The sky is a cloudless blue,
and no footsteps can be seen;
in the vast open space of white.

Yet, a grand piano stands,
in this place of no footsteps;
where a man is playing Beethoven.

For me . . .

Interludes In Life

Wonderful sunshine
Happiness to an angel
Singing through this cutie
A piece sung by Celine Dion
My Heart Will Go On.

Hot noon day a blazing fury
A poor PWD weightlifter
Trying her best practice religiously
Unmindful the poor physical condition of the gym
She's still manage to cup a prize for her name.

Misty cold evening at ground hotel
A lonesome romantic dancer
Dancing on the floor in rhythmic motion
Accompaniment of a grand piano
Played by a centenarian grandpa.
