On St Paddy’s day watch out for the jigger
He has stamina, vim and goblets of vigor.
His Celtic dances will put hair on your chest.
If I was not scared to death I would tell you the rest.

Who plotted against the
Throne of Caesar
Do we know of this man
He is a Roman Senator
His name is Brutus
The die is cast
Wine goblets whisper
Beneath these jealous hands
What price to pay
When innocent blood
Service this guilty dagger

If you have not had a rich raspberry mouse with whipping cream
You are in for such a treat said my friend Mrs. Molly McMeam.
She brought them out in goblets so shiny they had a gleam.
This dessert was delicious, delectable, a fat woman’s dream.

Sticking to a healthy liquid diet,
I dutifully take grandpa's advice
Eight goblets of brandy for night's riot :
Be careful, he laughs, " migraine is the price!"

Still green
the leaves shaken by a trembling silence
covered the boughs
and the blood red bracts
a lover's kiss
around the small white flowers
to the giant datura trumpets
crushed like bleeding rose petals
into the goblets of wine
take the lovers lives.

trinkets
goblets
jewels
expensive fabric
buggies and mules
these things entreat the first queen's hear with fuel
autumn leaves
burgundy trees
blue skies
stories of how others survived
the trials and tribs of life
I'll be the second queen tonight

I do not know?
Pink swirly frosting
Strawberry cake with whipped filling
Ice cream sherbet
Sweetheart roses
Feminine presentation
Pinks light up the room
Goblets and glassware glow in a glitzy way
Perfect birthday for Great-Grandma
Who loves pink, elegance
and fancy, beautiful things

Slip
wine lips
like
the French
Tongue tango
angst of
sighs
Deep and
silky soft
Wet-whisper gust
tickles ear
with warmth
Sip
goblets
cheekily
Thirst lost
in
crimson

Verse
Tempt me with the fruit of your vine
That sun and water nourished for me
Together, we will drink then of wine
Goblets of nectar we are meant to be
Each one possessing a liquid sense
As flow of emotion wets with dew
With feelings of pleasure, now so immense
The river flows wild, for us two

Now there will be wine,
Grapes are big and fine.
Come yee all to the vineyard;
Vino loves our smiles,
In near and in miles;
Toast goblets lady and lad.
Red or white, our choice,
In harvest, Rejoice:
We shall harvest, wine and dance;
Vino's bubling gift,
In wine is no rift,
But smile,love and romance.

an unassuming stack of mellow brie
dark succulent grapes with a shine
two crystal goblets without water spots
large bottle of Chardonnay wine
he wants to take her off to a villa
Where he hopes to “make her mine”
his mother packs chicken and homemade bread.
She throws in two red roses. Say hello to Clementine.

ISTHMUS OF TIME
e b o n y capes with d e r v i s h
eyes, transfixed on my pulse
countdown of cheering
red wine goblets
cascading
so much
~ time ~
spendthrift
fragile hours
cutting deep veins
salting them with tears
brain clings to side of pot
zombie moon’s hosting party

It is the morning of the rain.
A misty Seurat haze
soothes eyes toward turning
vast distances apart.
Hands puzzle empty goblets,
ball-point table cloths.
Strangers pose
in silent bedrooms
near the rainbow of gasoline
weathered faint by somber rain.
Morning paints
its dim impressions,
serrates edges, swirls clouds
as rain rolls back
its dead man's eyes.

another glass poured—
questions ripple in the glass
each sip slow savored
swirled to reveal the secrets
tart on the tip of the tongue
your hand grasps at mine
arms entwine beneath the cloth—
a feast set for two
titillation passion served
pleasure decanted on course
hollow goblets clink,
laughter's dessert shops on lips
that join for quick kiss—
yet the night seeps through fingers
like the wine we cannot keep

The worst wedding gift I ever received was a vacuum cleaner.
I despise vacuuming and my dog hate the sound of it.
I wanted elegant things – glass goblets, droplet prisms,
lace curtains, not a small round annoyingly loud vacuum
cleaner. Thanks Mom and Dad. Great gift! This was before
you could make a list. You got whatever someone else
wanted to get rid of. They ordered a new one for themselves’
we received their hand-me-down-one.

Dream makers
Through grimy windows, I can see
Santa and his elves blowing
bubbles, goblets and vases heat
and rolled up sleeves
Outside, large flakes of snow
dissolve on asphalt.
From the bar next door
red shadows and empty music leaked
out and into the gutter.
Hard smiles, and much wine, nicotine tongues
meet experienced lips.
Behind the bar a baseball bat,
the cheap scent and fake rings,
loneliness dances with greed.

Blank verse
The past has
flown out the window
The present is full of sorrow
Look to the future
for a taste of the
sweet wine of life
Your tears will change to laughter
if you focus on what is to come
Tomorrow - looming ahead like
a bright shining star
is something we should never
lose sight of
Let the dance begin!
Let the songs be sung!
Let the wine of life
be poured
into gorgeous goblets of
purest gold!

As Time unwinds with a cup of tea
Sipping fragrant steam of centuries
No rush to fluff the flattened sea
In the key of wind's piano notes
Strumming with hummingbirds' low float
And the whale's alto undercoat
Piecing a jigsaw silhouette
Of mountain sky, as eons set
Painting a desert river wet
Her comet's glittered ribbons trace
Over Orion's luminous face
Dappled in blue's infinite base
Goblets of stars conjure up
A millennia, as tiny
As a teacup.

we forged our names in willted stone
felt like a king without his throne
filtered dreams of love abide, strong earthly woman by my side
coins of gold shimmer brite
silver goblets reflect our might
tempered streams of wine and song
loving you im never wrong
sunless day's and winters night
heart felt dreams with visual sight
willted stone i feel your grace, the sun, the moon, conjoin in space tender hearts that once were one
lifes last grace from father to son.

This Thing Called Love – 4 Lines
After feasting on this amazing THING called love all through the NIGHT,
we sweetly sip from silver goblets, aged wine rich, red, warm, and mellow,
wistfully wishing to delay the threatening dawn that breaks golden, pale yellow.
In Wonderland, we woozily waltz - wildly, wantonly, to wondrous Wagner.
