Assign region flattery gauges?
Silly but let’s try anyway.
The Scottish slather it on.
The Germans withhold it.
It’s Irish blarney.

The Old Age
The wasted knowledge that comes with age,
Has become yet just pitted rage.
Each of us just turns a page.
Only play on a stage.
Left inside a cage,
Driving like phage.
Against swage,
Gauges,
Sage...

The Trolley May Run Out of Gas
Or translates to "I almost ran out of gas on the trolley today!"
An ode to my day!
On Trolley! New billows sweep thee out
Upward. What wilt thou? Hold that hill, be stout
Gas'st not thy mast
Now rent by stiff South Hill's blast?
Thy side, of passengers now forlorn?
Thine tank, with groaning gauges say
"Though cannot sustain,
The three more blocks to thy port!"...

Fear's Leash
Fear leashes unforeseen harpoons
when faith flees to the hold.
     Wind gauges possible typhoons,
     purser murmurs threefold...

           fractures in the bulkhead
           sailors stymied by dread
           damage and death ahead

Fear leashes anxiety;
Faith can anchor urgency.

Drops of Rain
Dying pray,
Dreams fray,
Hunger gauges false depth.

Closed eyes,
Tear dries,
Fear calls for a chilling death.

Full moon,
Blossoming soon,
Divine boon of new dreams

Sandy dune,
Rippling tune
In dying green, dying streams

Fallen glory,
Older story,
Weaving threads, yet nothing new

Drops of rain
On windowpanes,
Wishful mind; sparkling dew....

Other Shoe
Saw you coming,
you were running.
Ain't it something,
to get something for nothing?
You work on emotion,
your gauges are broken,
too late to rewind,
no use for slow motion.

Black and blue,
with plenty to do,
easily fixed,
with a little glue.

Here we are now.
What to do now?
Your not sure how,
it will figure out.
Eyes wide open,
never knowing,
never showing,
always holding....

Life After Death
I am living proof of life after death.
Weakened and not yet at full power,
My heart beats in a quieter rhythm
than when you were alive.
I have been making the necessary repairs.
Hammering out the dents.
Checking for a spark.
Watching the gauges.
Listening for a hum or a ping.
Polishing the fenders.
Perfuming the interior.
I would rev up the engine, but I
wait 'til someone turns me on....

Premium Member The Gunfire Rages
The gunfire rages
through the cracks
of neighborhood cages
as every fetid tenement ages
and voodoo economics suppress wages
of waitresses, cabbies and sages...

while the slick-shoe alderman engages
in taxing your turnip-blood in stages
and blue-jeaned billionaires decry outrages
of clothes-hanger abortions back-stages
and gang-banger rampages --
as this feckless dog-and-pony upstages
detonated death's tick-tock gauges

Think Or Sink
As the days turn to nights
The lights fade to shadows
So the truth changes
For those who think
About as broadly as
Fishing line of light gauges

As rain turns to snow
And water freezes solid
So convictions firm
For those who think
The other side of the coin is as faraway as
The next presidential term

As a roar is silenced
The microphones turned off
So the communal life drifts
For those who sink
Into loneliness as silent as
The reason for their philanthropic gifts...
