Musical Night
Beaming rays from moon,
infinitesimal clouds
foreshadows the night.

A howl sings to moon,
past the purple mountain range.
Dark, musical fright....

Again, too late for the contest, and, I had another, not so good one entered. But, this one
arrived in that thick skull of mine and I wrote it down and posted it anyway....

The Rain
Falling ever so gently
My tears mix with the rain.
It foreshadows
the coming pain,
the past pain,
the present pain.
But I know
these unexpected storms
only water the conquerer within.
So these trifling setbacks,
shouldn't make me cry at all.
But they do....

Ache and Regret
He is encompassing to distraction
Deeply carved like script on broken bark
My need so complicated
Yet effortless in initial stirring

His conscious neglect foreshadows anguish
Ache so relentless; pointed and poignant
Lifetimes of regret
Wretched longing
Never realized....

A Shadow of Doubt
My shadow to me is like
fragrance to the flower,
Moon to the sun,
Like the shade to the tree--
As it tells not what fruits it bears,
My shadow reflects not
the matters of my heart,
It foreshadows not
the dark side of my mind;

Tread not on my shadow
Nor shadow the whims
of my sly heart...
It will lead you astray!

It Foreshadows Me
It foreshadows me, the night, the darkness
It falls upon me to whisper some words
They are faint poretentous words
What may they mean, those words
"the darkness will be your fall"
What may they mean?
A dark figure falls upon the alley
Infront of me is darkness and eyes
A gunshot is heard and pain writhing
It forshadows me, the night, the darkness
It foreshadows my death...

In light of it all
In light of it all
In light of the mundane
the obtuse nature of the
Homo sapiens
the willingness to adhere
my soul delights in
belief in dreams manifesting
balance universally formed
in mustard seeds and eternal springs
things yet unseen
a ladybug’s touch
plucked four leaf clovers
who can know
who can cast foreshadows in-
in light of it all
in in light of the mundane...

Distraught and Lost
My screams are heard in the middle of the battleground—I’m fought
Now I’m in grief and I’m striving to set my mind elsewhere
But I’m frantic and lost—deeply distraught

As I’m shipped away to a far, unknown terrain
I, arduously, breathe in—there’s no one there to unwrap me
On and on, the showering chilliness—never abstains

My life ahead of me foreshadows a future…not so distant
Sending delight to my frenzied soul—there’s some light to share!
I’m found—held as a cherished infant...
