Standing on a Footbridge
While standing on a footbridge, I sang lyrics to our love song.
I felt you take my hand in yours - as if you were at my side.
Raindrops fell on my cheeks, bringing me back to reality.

The Bridge of Dreams
Purple plumes dangle amid the verdigris
the sweet-scented Wisteria Kapitan
a footbridge of Feng Shui dreams
enraptures my inner child's spirit.

To Be Fair
"At the Footbridge"
Now to be completely fair
And to stop every persons stare
Rodger was not actually circumcised
As he was a player, so don’t be surprised
This was from wear and tear and his willingness to share

Etched In Anguish
As harbor lights of Maine glimmered dimly by the pier
The wooden footbridge reflected my own trail of anguish;
Creating a bony shadow etched like evening's jagged mesh.

Ominous Cloud
Mist
Slides forth
From the peak
of curving heights
slants fade in purity, dismal, and droop
You're now at the same level as the trees.
the haze sneaks forth.
the footbridge
looming
cloud

Crimson Leaves
Walking across a footbridge, strewn with crimson leaves,
I watch as they twirl and pirouette in Autumn's chill wind
leading them in a rhythmic dance that it skillfully weaves
as they plummet, leaving branches naked and chagrinned.

At the Footbridge
At The Footbridge
Two Armies
One shoots off another salvo
The other fires back with gusto
Each offended
At the aggression of the other
At the footbridge
Foot soldiers die
In agony you hear them all bloodied, cry
War is a must and you wonder why?
Kings collect gold
Queens their ladies in waiting
Castles must be filled
With linens and fine silver laden
All with justifications
For the death of serfs and those of the invasion...

Footbridge Chicken
At the footbridge I saw a chicken,
trying to keep its balance
as it flapped its wings. It felt dizzy
when it saw the abyss below it,
which swallowed time and matter.
Surprisingly the chicken kept on
with the journey, claw after claw. It
wasn't chicken-hearted like most
chickens. It was ready to walk
on wooden footpaths which cracked
in every step,
until it reached the other end.
It had crossed the road;
now it was crossing a footbridge....

Narrative
At the Footbridge
I met Regret today,
he sat down beside me--
whilst across the creek,
Opportunity circled about
Regret introduced himself,
between my bevy of sighs,
I stated, “I wish I'd never met you, sir”
to which he plainly replied,
“But then you'd never meet him...”
as he glanced beyond the footbridge
So I walked across the cobblestone,
--and we never spoke again
