Notes About The Poem

Sijo contest sponsored by Andrea Dietrich  ~  January 17,  2024

Standing on a Footbridge

While standing on a footbridge, I sang lyrics to our love song.
I felt you take my hand in yours - as if you were at my side.
Raindrops fell on my cheeks, bringing me back to reality.

i love how yours is so sijo-like, the way the last line has that little twist. And I'm always a sucker for love nostalgia . Congrats on your win.

A sujo tinged with sadness, we all drift with our thoughts sometimes then something brings us back to reality. Good luck and hope you're feeling better. Tom

Yes, we do, Tom. No way to prevent them from flitting in and out of our minds. Thanks a bunch.

There's sadness in all of us for some reason(s) or another, Mark. Mine do all too often follow that melancholy path. Thanks.
