The Waiting 2009
The house is warm,
But I feel so cold.
Without your love,
I grow so old.
Without your smile,
A focussed light.
I feel I may,
I feel I might,
Begin to fade,
And slowly die.
Without your side,
Right by my side....

I Didn'T Hold Grudges
I suffered,he laughed
I filled up his voids, he created mine.
I looked for roses,he gave cactus
I looked only for his heart,he focussed on my body
I healed all those stitches,he gave me wounds..
I ignored him,he started following
I left him,he cried
I didn't hold any grudges,he holds guilt....

Too Late
It sticks to the underside
of what's out there,
a shadow
on the other side of knowing,
waiting, growing
and creeping closer
when eyes are focussed
elsewhere. It prefers
not to have a name.
One day, it will break cover
and pounce or slip quietly
through an unguarded gate.
Only then will you be able
to give it a name
and by then
it will be too late....

Autumn
Focus in, on the leaves
Changing colour, changing texture
The way they dance in the breeze
A changing daily show
Focus in, on the sound
Nut focussed tales from hurrying squirrels
The crunching leaves on the ground
The peaty comfort earthy smell
Focus in, on the branches and bark
First adorned, now bare
Distant places beyond your usual walk
Revealing once hidden vistas...

Dream Date
Understand and see me
Recognise my lines
Notice any nuance
Don't trail behind
Be there in the second
Free but focussed
Symmetry
Kaleidoscope style
Tumbling ideas
That collide
With ethereal synchronisation
To be understood
How beautiful
Soul to soul
Swirling and binding
Recognition
Connection
The outsider
Has met
Her kind

Focused Love
Boys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses??
----------------------------------------Focussed Love-------------------
Her gorgeous eyes
jeopardize men,
in ties of love.
Glasses she wore
to abhor them,
ignore passes
Focused lens woo,
inside view deep
"I too love you".

IF IT WASNT FOR POETRY
IF IT WASN’T FOR POETRY
If it wasn’t for poetry, I’d be free
Not a reluctant slave to my muse
Yet with just one occasional verse
The universe suddenly is focussed
Words that singly lacked meaning
Can combine and multiply emotion
Such that it made one draw breath
Seeing a glimpse of something real
That would not otherwise be born
Nor inspire some unknown reader
Perhaps even unaware of the craft
With a link across time and space
...

Shadow Lands
Hidden in the shadow,
I feel safe and alone,
As the projecting sun,
Has no devious tone.
The helios intends light,
And only opaque objects,
Obstruct form and trueness,
Being as harmless as insects.
I can be completely myself,
In the shadows minute light,
No focussed, angled camera,
To rectify, scold and fright.
Waiting for them each day,
At four, halfers or five o’clock,
They’re so warmly relational,
About my wayward block.
