Shadow Lands
Hidden in the shadow,
I feel safe and alone,
As the projecting sun,
Has no devious tone.
The helios intends light,
And only opaque objects,
Obstruct form and trueness,
Being as harmless as insects.
I can be completely myself,
In the shadows minute light,
No focussed, angled camera,
To rectify, scold and fright.
Waiting for them each day,
At four, halfers or five o’clock,
They’re so warmly relational,
About my wayward block.
