Firefly,
light its fire,
incognito
wander in peace
with its unusual brightness
While
glowing
poetry
inspires... !
the highest treetop--
is mirrored through the clear eyes
of a small firefly

Ephemeral light of the firefly
floating in the dark sky
blinks and blinks, without being a star...
Fluorescent light
Indigo night
Ruby reverie
Engaging dream
Floating on air
Luminating lemon Lilly
Yellow moon thrilling
bonfire magic
red firefly lightning bits
mesmerized by night
flaming sparkling hot
bright red-orange turning to gray
bonfire magic
I
Fly on
Wings of light
A flicker here
Another there and
Light up the dark
With my friends
Close by
Me.
By the light of the firefly
I walk…I walk down the path
Seeing things I just imagine
Center of firelight

baritone bullfrogs
harmonize with crickets-
firefly tenors
flickering-
nothing’s as harmonic
as nights music
night’s shroud drapes the woods
swarm of firefly swirls around
lattice of live light
flickers on black tapestry
stars twinkle in dense darkness
A slough of moonlight
Singing lost love songs
A firefly playing rodeo
A lovers reach in petrified time
Butterflies, take it on this Summer night
A sky of fireflies
fills with drizzled meek magic
stars sprinkled in jars
sequin flecked lacy twilight
lending midnight their brief light

Sometimes you have to get your halo dirty.
Is this an epigrams or a firefly? There's never an English professor around when you need one.
The firefly is pyrophoric
Giving off glowing light
Such a ethereal sight
Glides around children who are euphoric,
One of few creatures who is adoric.
first night—
the soul’s fringe still shining hazily
the last night—
as though knowing time has come
morning comes—
a firefly spends all its light
darkening meadows
conjure parallel stages-
lawn chairs on damp grass
fireflies skittishly eyeing
the flitting lights of smart phones

Soft
lights blink
underneath
shaded starry
sky
swift
glowing
firefly
quietly passes
by
Birds
chirps sweet
lullaby,
sway to world of
dreams.
A single firefly
bumped into a computer monitor
and
fell into the keyboard,
floundering
lost in the valley,
slow crawling
disappears into the darkness.
Selfless equipped with nobility and compassion

Unique wonderfully created one me
Luminescence gifted firefly
I spied a gossamer firefly, with big black eyes...
Kissing, her beauty's butterflies; together they flew
Beyound the residuums view; these taunting, cockatoos.
The darkness that soaks you,
Dedicated to your way,
It’s all you are gifted merely.
Be your own light.
Be the firefly.
What choice else remains?
What choice?
flickering fireflies
faerie spirits of the land,
I cry to see you...
but when I embrace the sea,
she washes those tears away.

Fireflies glowing as they pass in the night
Glittering and glimmering – softest starlight

Mouths gasp in wonder-
mystical lights dance in tune,
breathless concourses in awe
As God's creatures glow.
Brighter than cool, darkened nights-
Seas of fireflies ignite
My bunnies are so vain
They know this poem is about them
