When Then
if i were
in a northern
country in Europe

and i was
ending my life
would i say "fin"

as in
the ending
of a movie

because if
i were in Finland
wouldn't every sunset

be
fin...

Freakish Fanny fled fine Finland
For far-fetched Formosa fields,
Forsaking fantastic fiords forever
Forfeiting flourishing forests,
Frigid fertile farmland, festivals
Forgetting feared future fighting.

YOUNGMAN FROM NEW ENGLAND

There was a young...man from New England
so excited visiting his cousin
he was single and lonely
his lost love left for Finland
she left him at the park so cold hearten

By Hand
I stepped into a place of magic.
Implements, antique construction,
still used everyday.
Shiny interlopers keep away!
The trusty and pre-fabricated still hold sway.
Products of a bygone era,
polished and honed to precision,
manual labor, the road to perfection.

(Note: on visiting a farmhouse in Finland
where many of the old-fashioned farm
implements are still used to this day.)...

Paul's Wife Doll
Paul's wife Doll was a little dolphin
She had no hands but a single fin
She ate a cute fish finger
                                       Allowed the smell to linger
And paid fin to Finland for her sin

Joulupoyta
Feast fit for a king on a day the king was born
17 Nov 2015

Joulupöytä (translated "Yule table") is the name of the traditional assortment of foods served at Christmas in Finland, similar to the Swedish smörgåsbord. It contains many different dishes, most of them typical for the season. The main dish is usually a large Christmas ham, which is eaten with mustard or bread along with the other dishes...

With Shoes On Feet
a grab-and-run pack
a small survival sack
with one set of clothes for spouse and self
passports, a file with just few mails
an old diary with addresses to contact
in England, Finland, and Switzerland

and some currency notes
couple of thousands
in rupees that does not stretch
like the American dollars
they were what i needed most

as the pogrom was in progress
in my Tamil homeland
while i always went to bed
with shoes on my feet...
