Gods Whispers
While the blood
Of Jesus runs through me
Soothing my soul
I can hear his whispers
In my ear, giving me
The courage, strength, and energy
To fight off darkness and negativity
And giving me, faith, hope
And peace of mind, amen...

Stalking

this storm is surrounding
like a giant beast of old.
it stays just so far off
until we think it has gone
then thunder, which is its voice,
crashes into our ears.
the trees and bushes
begin thrashing about
as it stalks us. coming
close in a huge uproar;
we, as our ancestors, can not
fight off shudders of fear....

The Nature of Help
Own best cheerleader I can be
To fight off insanity!

Have to travel down the road
Or get squashed like a toad!

Have an area of being calm
Soothes the aching like a balm

Sometimes stay just down-to-earth
To keep up a sense of worth

Focus on God; focus on life
To kick out the inner strife

Up and up and up you go
To the stars tally-ho!...

Premium Member Unadorned
Naked, skeletal, the forest shivers.
Bark thickening in the wily wind.
Unadorned the trees slumber on.
Their limbs seeming to fight off the
onslaught of nightmarish Winter.

Twig tips claw avengingly at the sky
and rake torn nails across windowpanes.
Slumber soothes not the dreamer
who waits in a frenzy of anguish
for the kind covering of snow....

Premium Member Pray Your Way, To Great Days
Dark and grey, breaks the day
This the way, life does play
With the gay and the grave
With the brave and the knave

Bleak the light, day like night
Stay the fight, off the blight
Hold on tight to the Son
He’s the one, not to shun

When it’s dark in your park
He’s a spark and an ark
Place your mark with the light
Set your sights, bold and bright...

Thinking of Dr King
He was gunned down
as were many in the public eye
He was murdered
    and his legacy
must sustain us
   There are few
with such courage
Unfortunately . there are
   few able to
  be free from bigotry
I, myself have found myself
full of hatred for those
who look or believe differently from me
But I struggle to fight off those feelings
   Hope you do too
Brothers and sisters...

Silly Sentimentality
First, an uneasy silence,
         then a definite maybe;
I hope it's just tipping
         the first domino for me;

perhaps I misunderstand,
         so I won't miscalculate;
she might not give her hand,
         but then it might be too late;

feeling ridiculous and silly,
I fight off this stupid anxiety,
but I'm a mismatch against
        old-fashioned sentimentality!...

Premium Member I Want You Now
Just one look at you and my pupils dilate
I caress you with my fingertips and stroke you gently
I hold you in my hands and undress you slowly
I lick my lips and wish you were in my mouth
You arouse me with your scintillating scent
Dark, rich and smooth as silk
Oh how I want you
Simply cannot fight off this desire any longer
I need you urgently
Guess I better eat my bar of plain chocolate

Crofts of humble
mute to grumble
What prods a heart to seek succor?
Fall to tumble
mind a’jumble
spayed fingers join to clasp in prayer.

Flipped to sober
fearless warrior
What tools to fight off plights of fear?
High to lower
wise the warrior
Gains strength and force in quiet’s calm.

Thank you Karen O'Leary...I'll send you
a picture of 'Flip', when I can get back into

and very inspirational!!...

Reverse Roles
Someone lead me,
I need a leader.
I'm sick of being in charge.
Sick of being confident.
Sick of being positive.
Sick of being funny.
Sick of being deep.
Take my role for a change.
I perceive all of your options,
Now it's your turn.
Protect me, be my guardian,
Tell me everything is okay.
I do it to you,
You owe me.
Fight off the negatives thoughts
invading me as I do the same.
Be the oasis in the desert.
Be my leader for a change....

Take Me Freely
Take my eyes so you can see
The beauty of this life

Take my tongue to help you speak
Of its mysteries in kind

Take my legs so you can walk
Across this rugged land

If you need comfort with
Then please take my hand

Along with my arms for added strength
To fight off the strife

And my mind to help you think
About the best of times

Take my ears so you may hear
The laughter of a child

So when you do you'll know it's true
You also have my smile...

Fight Off All Our Foes
Everybody knows
That to God want to propose
Hel fight off our foes.

Also want to say
God be in our lives today
Wash our sins away.

Sisters and brothers
God help us to help others
Make us be lovers.

Leave no one behind
May be woman or mankind
Which God has designed.

Have found peace at last
Sorrows remain in the past
Fly flags high on mast.

From now until then
We will not worry again
Now free from all sin.

I'M Yours and You'Re Mine
Through my heart,
its leaking out.
All my feelings,
I try to keep out.

I've been scared to admit how I feel,
wondering if this all could be real.
Day and night I think of you.
I wonder if there's something I could do.

I've told you I loved you,
you said it too.
It gives me hope,
for me and you.

I hope this continues to move along,
our relationship is going so strong.
We fight off our battles, one at a time.
At least we both know that I'm yours, and you're mine....

The Shield Is His
Shield of great representation, Captain America must be proud. Built to fight off all mutations, Fear, is in the eyes of the crowd. Red, blue, white and steel, enemies' fail to duplicate thee. Often times, they are made to kneel, others evacuate, vanish or flee. It bares no solid competition, no sword comes close to compare. Its speed bears unlimited conditions, made for its owner, exclusively rare. 12 July 2022 Sponsored by Robert James Liguori
