Silly Sentimentality

First, an uneasy silence, then a definite maybe; I hope it's just tipping the first domino for me; perhaps I misunderstand, so I won't miscalculate; she might not give her hand, but then it might be too late; feeling ridiculous and silly, I fight off this stupid anxiety, but I'm a mismatch against old-fashioned sentimentality!
