Fall Away

it falls away
never built to last
one hangs on
while the other fasts
the words dry up
and disappear
soon, it hasn't been weeks
it's been years

Premium Member Broken Souls

Born into hate

Born into sin

What chance is there

We'll ever win

Broken souls

Can't find there way

Can't trust no one

People fall away.

Premium Member TIME AND SPACE

Time drifts wide, folding light through space’s breath; stars recall ancient paths. Moments bloom, then fall away~ echoes in the void.

Tv

Intoxicant of sublimation
New ruler of alienation
The channels change
As the mind stops,
And the images
Fall away

(Villanova Pennsylvania: September, 2013)

So I'Ll Remember: Post-It

You come
You go
You fall away
     and I forget
I'll find another
     and another
     and another until
I've run out

I implore you
I beg you
Please, stick around

Premium Member A Simple Choice

Walking among our clouds of doubt
Our fate is sealed
with innocent ambiguity
Our steps are laden
with blind uncertainty
Our yearnings, like cliffs
fall away to guiltless verity

Tears

As the bittersweet tears
of letting him go
rolled down her cheek,
she hoped the anguish in her heart
would fall away too,
every hurt
with every drop

Premium Member Her Lips

Her lips taste like a revolving assortment of fruits each one sweeter than the next To kiss her is to fall away into a land of wonder where love is always present

Worry Meditation

Fall away from me
like leaves fall from the trees.
A gentle passing.
Be a seed swept by the breeze.

Like a fine layer of frost melts under the sun,
slip away, fleeting sigh.
Be gone.

Autumn Upon Parade

Tinges of red and gold fall away as confetti tint Beneath on high, naked limbs wave swept A taint of winter's coming mistral wind Whispers out, with just a rose cheek hint Autumn is here upon parade

Blank Paper

Ink stains
Paper cuts!
See the blood
It beams of new life.
Love hard
Die hard
Break heart
See the red tear stains across the paper?
Fall away
Scar’s
Written woes
To purge the heat
From old-soul bones.

Premium Member Alzheimer's and Lost Memories

It's a moment in life
when all your memories
fall away
and all that's left
is a blank palette
friends and family
come to visit
and you just sit there
like they're strangers
your blank stare
upsets everyone

Premium Member Mama's Lessons

Let the mask of pride fall away
and clear stubbornness out the way.

Every time one learns a lesson;
repeat of mistake does lessen.

Keep exercising common sense
like Mama said; heed her two cents.

Serengeti King

stealthily stalking
   grasses of gold disguise him....
      serengeti king

streaks of black and white
   pounding out panic's pursuit....
       dusty clouds of fear

weaklings fall away
   struggle vainly to survive....
      nature roars aloud

Shooting Star

From heaven fell a shooting star,
As stars are apt to do—
They burn as suns, and brightly so,
Until their burnings through.

But the heavens are diminished
For the stars that fall away—
Imagine how the dark would fail
Should the stars decide to stay!

Beyond Reach

She was there
a dream often
glimpsed
for a moment
just upon the brink
of waking

She was there
a moment
where the light
and waves
dance then
fall away

She was there
a love made real
a hope made manifest
a wish come true
then gone
beyond reach

Another Day

Acceptance sweeps in
Brushing thoughts away
Laying memories to rest
Looking forward to another day
Accepting God's will along the way
Laying hopes and dreams to rest
Maybe it was just a test
Sighs, prays for his forgiveness
Letting heart breaks ache fall away

Night Iii

Maybe things are becoming brighter
One spark at a time,
The fire of future burning, blazing…
Something to hold onto
While all else seems to fall away.
Perhaps not the beginning of the end,
But the start of something better;
Holding onto hope
To avoid disappointment.

Weekend

Moments drip together like a warm ice cream; on this sticky, putrid night...
August can go straight to hell; it's October that's in my sights...
Fall away these redundant times, as I drown in Thursdays...
Mimic happiness thrown like a life saver, longing for Saturdays...

Premium Member A Length of Time

combing my unkempt hair
unraveling years of not caring
my freedom knotted with reckless abandon
untangling each strand of dissatisfaction
cutting as curls fall away
each length a strand of injured time

Shepherd

By serving God I serve man,
  but I cannot serve God by serving man;
  the horse is put before the cart;
the sheep shall scatter to the wind....
for I shall see sheep, yet not the herd ----
  one will fall away,
  the rest will follow,
and the wolf shall rend them piecemeal

Worlds Collide

watch with hands tied as your two worlds collide
masks fall away and truths are revealed
your house of cards crumble in the wake of their rage
broken promises and shattered dreams are all that remain
the path you have chosen has led to dismay
despair has found those you've betrayed.

Let Me Lose You

when reaching for the stars they seem so away
when thinking about you my fears just fade
listen to my voice now it speaks my heart
listen to the tears that fall in the dark
you hold once again don't let me go
you say you wanna change baby I know
but don't fall away don't let me lose you
