Usual cliche opening line 
A trite and superficial rhyme.. 
Now exposition maudlin- 
about pain or love or the weather. 
A clever offset bit of sing-song; 
Stuff like ding-dong or even King-Kong. 
And, as usual a line to make- 
this thing too long. Now finish strong- 
to alert the reader to the fact 
this poem has run out of time. 
In this space, of course, I'll tack 
A little "AbAb" end rhyme. 
And too be cute, say it turned out fine....

the concept of a "hi-ku moment" ,personal experience  provides the sole motive for recording an aesthetic moment of a timeless feeling of enlightened harmony as the poet's nature and the environment are  unified in impressionist brevity with short succinct syntax,sans superfluous words, avoidance of metaphor and similes ,where an emphasis on imagery over exposition becomes ..genius... using an economy of words ..to paint a multi-tiered painting, without "telling all"....

While weeding in my vegetable garden,
I took a needed break, from my hoeing.
I gazed along the creek over the glen,
a pride of tiger lilies opening.

It appeared to me an exposition,
a thousand deep, emerging on parade.
Row on row and column after column,
in full regalia, a marching brigade.

A brilliant orange with narrow spots of brown,
on each top hat, a yellow pollen crown.
Shoulder to shoulder in closed rank column,
marching, marching in ornamental plume....

colours now brick, mortar
grey and thudding

sinews of tranquility 
screeching, curled up 
tightness gripping,
thoughts overturned
distracted....

a harmony of notes
has been struck
damaged, distorted

but now at last - it's back

please stay!

Its sound - painful
exulting, wanting
yearning and twisting

a pit of harmony to 
crush the chest
and bring forth
an exposition of tears

Stay here, stay a while
forever yearning

for the tranquility.....
