Remember Sapphire September

Warm, cornflower blue
September skies, escorting
In the beginning
Of pleasant cool, wet, autumn
Shortening colorful days.

Serious and Furious

Serious and Furious

About my many poems people were curious;
They should really start taking them serious;
Someone is supporting,
And danger escorting;
Is flustering Trump making us all furious.

The Perfect Date!!!

Wasn't late escorting me to the vehicle
Picked a rose from the walk way
Made reservations in advance
Got there on time
Was polite to the waiter
Had a night cap
Put a hand on my thigh

Then I slapped myself and went to bed

A Date with myself. LOL

My Funeral

My Funeral

Escorting my corpse,
The funeral procession,
I cease to exist,
No more than a cinerary,
Lived whole life as immortal !

September

September comes blowing a cooling breeze,
Escorting Summer on her way.
Pretty yellow and gold colored leaves,
Teased by the wind dance and play.
Exciting colors of orange and red,
Make the Maples a fiery hue.
Bedecked so gaily from toe to head,
Ethreal Fall imbues,
Richness as Summer makes her bed.

Homeless

Hanging around here, nowhere to go
Ominous darkness, zero below

Many will pass by, turning their head
Enveloped by warmth, when kind words are said

Liquor, it fills me, takes me away
Escorting me back, to that happier day

Shallow are many who cast judgement on sight
Seeking out refuge, praying I'll be alright

Your Coercive Blade of Censorship, My Razor Edged Pencil Tip

Silenced voices, feared by those in power.
Utopia sought, only dystopia flowers.
Protect all speech, diverse and free.
Perception leads to a society that is truly.
Redeemed expression, a beacon bright.
Escorting us through the darkest nights.
Silenced speech, we've lost our way.
Shaping the fascists we sought to slay.

Evening Gown of Yesterday

After days of fog
Moths eat away the slip of winter
Pieces of the New Year
Drift as ash into spring

Eyes waiting abhorrently
While midnight clasps the last remnants
Tomorrow becomes the butler
Escorting the sun

Rays peel open the solstice
Tattered wings flutter towards
The lamppost of February
Sealed in pocket mirrors…

Hazel Happiness

Hazel Happiness, her eyes were;
Pools of brown, green, and blue;
So enticing and inviting and warm.

Hazel Happiness, her aura was;
Bright, caring, and promising;
So intelligent and powerful and valiant.

Hazel Happiness, her presence brought;
Escorting smiles, laughter, and beams;
So uplifting and supportive and embracing.

Steadfast Achieve Milestones

Four police escorting, a tomato thrown at her, still she walks with a calm face, unperturbed by surroundings, determined to bring about a change for good of all. 13th February 2021 Written for Double Tetractys contest by Eve Rooper Photo choosen - 1 Syllable count checked at poetry soup syllable counter

September

September comes blowing a cooling breeze,
Escorting Summer on her way.
Pretty yellow and gold colored leaves,
Teased by the wind dance and play.
Exciting colors of orange and red,
Make the Maples a firey hue.
Bedecked so gaily from toe to head,
Ethereal Fall imbues,
Richness as Summer makes her bed.

We'Ve Got the Dreamer's Disease

Pulling joyfully their curtains wide
Allowing love's rays her, beauty's light
New Radicals, you've got the music in you
Seraphims escorting serendipity's twenty-first
Century his jinni appears gayety her garland pastel
Mesdemoiselles their colours rich as oils this Helen of Troy
Menage menagerie; resilient, these spirits the child, whom believes
Wearing flash floods but hey we do it in style: jill, an infant's Messianic retreat.

Therapy with Theos

Perceive me through your senses,
Like God in the Old Testament.

Feel the warmth.
Enveloping, comforting your cold heart.
See the sand.
Shimmering, hypnotising you into a trance.
Hear the bubbles.
Stroking, nursing those half-open wounds.
Smell the tranquility.
Meditation, teleportation, unending calm.
Taste the saltiness.
Following, escorting you back home.

Or was the sea shore your home?
Or just a therapy you sought?

Crazy Time At the Bar Contest

I sat down and ordered a drink
She walked in dressed in pink
As I looked over I gave her a wink

Little did I know I was laying on the floor
Drunk as a skunk now seeing a monk
Pink elephants I did see

Boy, I sure had to pee
I lifted myself up from the floor
Next thing I knew they were,

Escorting me out the door

Ushers

U is for utilizing your God given towel of service

S is for serving God with a higher sense of purpose

H is for handing God your helpful hands to be used

E is for escorting His people into the anointed pews

R is for the righteous behavior that you always display

S is just for showing up each and every Sunday

USHERS those friendly faces you see when you enter into God's place

the door keepers of the church who always greet you with peace and grace

Sunset

Listen to poem:
The golden hope
Of brighter tomorrow
Slides into the salty ocean
No steam or bubbles
Just the crimson joy of the clouds
Escorting
With their shifting ochre tones
While fiery orange irradiates
The grateful atmosphere
Until slowly
Ever so slowly
Into the ripples of the horizon's haze
The queen of the daylight
Slinks
Then is gone
Her wispy train of colour
Vanishing
As the blue king of the night
Claims his place
And sits in the throne room
Of the speckled sky

My Life To Me Was Your Shadow

Memories Of Yesterday

When you smiled I laughed for you
When you cried I wept for you
What I loved most
I gave all for you
What you hated most
I absorbed that for you
I wanted no sorrow to touch you
I always had to swallow
Your anger for you.

You were the faith
That moved my mountain
You were the spring
That filled my fountain.
I saw no dawn welcoming today
I saw no dusk escorting tomorrow
Each day for me I lived for you
But time has made it be
Memories of yesterday
