Premium Member In a Whirlwind

Elijah was caught up to heaven in a whirlwind.
     Just prior to that
      Elisha asked for and received a double portion of his spirit

Elijah sat 'neath a broom tree
'Lord,enough is enough, for me'
Within,he heard a small voice,
The Lord gave Elijah,this solace-
'Annoint Elisha in your place'

Junipers symbolized rest and refuge in ancient times.
Elijah, Job, and Jeremiah were drawn to these special trees.
During their worst times, resting beneath them, they pondered life and death.

Elijah 'what are you doing here'
The prophet,revealing his fear-

Showing His care,without casting blame

Transfigured My Faith Pt. 5

Peter, John and James
Went to the Mountain
With Jesus to pray
The face of Christ changed
His clothes became bright

They saw Moses
And Elijah
With Jesus Christ
Speaking with Him

Let us build
Them shelters
A voice came

This is
My Son

It was a day like any other
their weary feet bathed in dust, dirt
a burst of light in the sky
Lord, Elijah, Moses
Captured radiance
Peter awestruck
heart's ablaze
Faith sealed

And Elijah looked down
Upon the earthly ground and
Shouted all the torrent of worry
And surrendering joy left in his soul.
In the morning he awoke to a new light,
And staggered across the wet moss
He had rambled across the day prior
when he was still stuck in the mire.

Wow - Excellent XL

Revolutionary insight excelled
for forty days and forty nights.
Noah discovered what rain was;
Moses received God’s ten laws twice.
Josh and Caleb searched out the land;
Jesus triumphed o'er Satan's tests.
Goliath’s grand boasting accrued;
Elijah travelled in anguish.

El Divino

I ELIAS I'll climb to the crest of the clouds - bare heart - I'll climb to the Morning Star from the very edge of deus ex machina. I've left in the pulpitum my offering of bewilderment my embroidered cape - imaginería - the mere crumbs of my fears.

A Chariot of Wind and Fire

When I am in isolation
Amidst the woods
I am not alone.
I think of the caves
And canyons and rivers
That Elijah sat in,
Just him and God,
Talking back and forth.
What kind of friendship did they form
In those desolate hours
That made God sweep him
Off the face of the Earth
In a chariot of wind and fire.

Digest the Foundations

Don't let my hope die down
although i know it was mine
to begin with
And the moon is praying
yet some see Elijah bestrode back in town
but I'm an old sinner
too old for my years
not knowing who would emerge
from the gloomy vale
I rode away
to see the harbour's light dim
but still I think of outside
where all the pain was

Distant Thunder

Hearing distant thunder, as the mighty waves
of Majesty crash upon my shore,
like Elijah I look off into the distant panorama
only to see that the dense clouds of blessing
is already upon me,
heavy with the blessings which come from
obedience - to be obedient in few things,
is to become ruler over many things.

Smoke, On the Water

His child, living long enough to have learned this truth....
Its been no pleasure cruise nor was such her world, meant
To be their traveler time's pilgrims; transfiguration's stretched tightly

The Prophet

THE PROPHET.

When Elijah comes again,
We'll all turn the page of sin,
He is not the Lord,
But a voice of awe,
Heaven above, Earth below,
Fire within, ever to glow,
Divine life and love on Planet Earth,
Flames of gifts, new life to birth,
One vision and one dream,
Amity and no more bigotry,
One global fellow humanity,
Ceasing hostilities, such sin,
When Elijah comes again.

Stars In Time

If I could go back in time;
I would rename the stars that shine.

Hercules and Perseus would be replaced;
Elijah and Moses would take their place.

The Ten Commandments would shine brightly in the sky;
Reminding us that the zodiac signs were but a lie.

God's promises would be seen above,
As a wonderful sign of his love.

When the time has passed and gone by;
Just remember God never lied.

Premium Member When in Fullness I Ricochet

God gave me too much of me
And some of me too little
That to live must be —
That to live must be reduced
To something less
A lesser someone
Or in fullness being —
A being forever bounding
To where the lesser could never reach
Or reach immensely slower.

God gave me too much of me
So I longed to pass as Elijah did
In my chariot of fire
Lacquered black and finely barred,
Run on one-way furnace rails.
