I stepped out with a mask in place,
To see the humans face to face.
But all I saw were creatures masked,
Walking on two legs like humans tasked.
My educational journey's end was near,
But humans were nowhere to appear.
Yet faith and humanity I found,
With eyes closed in this world around.

Not about your dress code

through everyday events

If you do not know people
How can you advance
Learn the skills you need or
You haven't got a chance
Let your mind expand

If you learn to understand
you'll get more satisfaction

Like a person who knows you
Entertaining when your bored

Time flies by fast
Like it's been frozen still
Eye bags under my eyes to account for the lost time
Convincing myself that I
Won't do it but still doing it
A habit I can't seem
to break
again it starts
While technological gadget
poses test
to teacher's best---
may educational budget
bring to crest

built a nest out of twin twigs
instead of a camp fire fire starter
laid eggs away from threats
instead of posing for bird watcher enthusiasts
brought home worms for babies' consumption
instead of baiting them for fished
flying against rural strong wind
instead of the resistance from urban polluted air
got printed on educational books
instead of having place in the world.
The clock ticks
When will the world fix
Everyday concerns
As in, equality for all
And an educational system
Where all learn?
No more Ivy League colleges
For bragging rights
All knowledge is to enhance
Ones insight
For employment
No more unbalanced scales
For opportunity
All shall be able to hear
The bell
