Desmond was a large drake
Who swam in a wonderful lake
In a very grand house
With a cat and a mouse
And a duck for friendship sake
crumbs tossed into pond
mallard ducks glide toward me ~

A QUIET POND
Quiet living pond,
Teaming with its watered lives,
Sits in wet silence:
Ducks and the lily pad frogs,
In stilled pond contemplation:-
forever quacking
like two silly ducks in bed
two soulmates at birth
jibber jabber quack quack quack
yes I think they got the knack !
Yearlings Yakety-Yak yolks yearns yearlings yawning youthful
yawnibgly youthful sreams and and yells ~

The Ducks in Life
Sometimes we must duck!
From our fine-feathered friends,
Even human ones—

Poetic form: Senryu
Rain drops fall softy
each splashing drop forms circles
which join into puddles
Ducks splash with great glee
flapping wings causing droplets
that reflect rainbows
ducks are pure devils
the speculative babies
fly over wall street
some small some tall
can fly high
set and flow
to them its heavenly
to be
on sea ocean
it is in motion
they dip and head buck
the ocean
WATER SEA DUCKS
Nice Weather for Ducks
In Seattle
During the winter rains
The coming greeting
Is nice weather
For ducks
Who loves to play
In rainy days
Of Seattle’s winter
POND QUEEN
Ducks may rule the pond,
but there's a lily pad throne
where a queen frog sits.
while rock-throwing kids scare ducks,
the frog queen quietly sits there:-
The ducks take their place in Big Easy -
The gal of age sixty gives squeezy.
A party with quips
and dip with some chips.
Though fun, it was all a bit cheesy.
Halleluya got all my ducks in a row
As I struggle through life on my tippy-toes
Without a fuss
In the future I trust
Just a young dreamer with a runny nose
skaters slide on ice
white mountains rise behind lake...
ducks long for spring thaw
Entry for Michael Falotico's "An Haiku from Your Window" contest

An ignorant duck breeder with a moat
Put off repairing his dingy to float
And he doesn’t yet know
Getting his ducks in a row
Means more than getting his ducks in a row-boat
Three ducks waddling through the snow
I see their bare feet and hope they do not have far to go
Where is the pond? Is their habitat gone?
I wish they had mittens, coats and tiny boots on
Six ducks

Today seems like it's gonna be a good one
Ducks in a row, shining down is the warm sun
What could go wrong
Gonna sing a sweet song
Bout happiness and stuff, do you think I'm stunned?
PASSION DUCKS Feed and Washes on THE FROZEN LAKE - A Haiku - A Haiku

Columbus and Vespucci charted the sea foam,
their star-studied maps taking them far from home~
till their helmsman did say,
“Hey, take your sextants away…
you ancient sea-souls, get a room for your tome.”
Vom Fluss herüber
Schriller Ruf der Wildenten
In ihrem Tiefflug
Across the river
A shrill call of the wild ducks
In their deep flight
A través del río
Un agudo grito de patos silvestres
En su bajo vuelo
When ever I venture out my back door, there's way more ducks then the time before. I'm beginning to feel like a celebrity with my new webbed family. These quacking friends, my paparatzzi are always patiently waiting for me.
Pond's water captures
the morning shadow
Similar desires teem
in our heads
We love strolling along
the banks of ponds
Prosaic ducks disfigure
the green images
