as i drift to sleep
nightmares entagle me
making joy fleed in its presence
steal my nightmares away?
share your dreams?
Form:
They all drift away,
Times once mine gradually,
Further fade away,
As the day begins to end,
Even the sun slowly drifts.
Clouds drift
white and soft
New ones form,
then fade
Feathery edges
sweep across
Silver light glints
Grey shadows drift
days drift
feelings shift
nights are long
wind blows
love goes
rain will fall
hearts break
spirit quakes
you are gone
Hearts do fall in life
Burst into storms of ardour
Drift against anchor.
Confine your heart to reason
When not ready for the tide.
Starlight spills like frost,
dusting night’s dark velvet rim.
Galaxies breathe slow~
soft lanterns in cosmic drift.
The moon was
not enough
Wrapped in silk
It drifted from
her pocket
Leaving trail
in ripples
casting itself
deep in
unfathomable sky
Form:
Like steam I float and drift, aimlessly
dripping like warm bottled water
spilt onto a floor, leaving the lazy
footprints of a dawdling daughter.
Saddening dark trunks
Now naked skeletal lone
Whilst Autumns golds drift

A craft ever afloat
in dark endless doldrums.
The drifting aether-boat,
station of static hum.
Fallout: the lethal moat.
Recov’ry never comes.
My ship is no longer
sailing a drift,
In this big ocean
called life.
I now have found my
safe harbor.
In your loving arms.

There are times when we should shift
Our gears so we can start being swift;
New President,
God has sent,
And fear off line he always does drift.

sugary stardust
sprinkles
sparkling
silent slopes
swirling
stone-cold
shivering
dreams drift
under icy moon’s eye

my last new poem
was the penultimate one
and second to none
until this one came along
now i pen ultimate one

. . . crisp leaves, toss, crackle
tiny, telltale rain puddle
tadpole tails wiggle . . .
"Sitting by my window watching the world pass by
I close my eyes and drift away to a place where we could fly
My heart is warm with thoughts of you, I bide my time till our
hearts are true"
if clouds drift away
if they close their eyes to sleep
will they miss the sun?

He got hold of my hand and put it ‘round his waist
He moved closer by my side for he’s about to rest
He turned his back on me while still holding my hand
My son bid me goodnight before drifting to dreamland.
Kalimba notes drift out
To my delighted ear
As if the Matobo plains
Were conveyed from afar.
The tines - reverberating -
Complete an ethereal bar.
Each bar - artfully plucked -
Speaks kindly to my heart.
Version #1
Petals float down like dreams,
landing gently on the ground,
vanishing before we rise.
Version #2
Petals descend like whispers,
landing quietly on the earth,
lost before we open our eyes.
sometimes i drift into your realities
never felt at ease
time beckons from the dist
essence of beauty
taste of hope
inebriated on pain
crippled my fear
filled the empty with
nothing looking for last lasts
night touches wind, gold
buds drifting off from laced hems
in slow procession,
while twirl of frothy breeze cloaks...
my desolate autumn view.
Contest: 4 or 5 LINE POEM
My thoughts are empty Vessals.
Floating in a deep dark Lake I Think.
The waves are not Connected.
There everywhere it Seems.
One moment I am Shipwrecked.
Others as though I Sink.
I am hearing many Voices.
Its pirates so to Speak.
Form:
Butterflies drift
before a man
before
the
dawning night.
Clouds retreating
beyond the veil
beyond
a
setting sun.
Ruminate long
within this space
within
this
sober sight.

Drifting
Floating along at my perfect temperature,
Not too hot nor too cold.
No friction or abrasion or collision,
Uninterrupted,Unnoticed,Unaffected.
