When the River Fails
when the river fails

credit the stone
that shapes your name

when the mountains flee

stagger the gold
that drowns the sea

at close

disembark as the dust
into dark

O' chastened earth
may your counterstrike rage...

Your Ardour
Who adjourns me
in this backlight story
Who will call the wolf
to dance in her captivity ?
Willow wisp dispensing hollowness
espied on fields of grey

The World's a stage
disembark at your own peril
Pontificate
your ardour
anoints us well...

I dream in silence
                               While alone in time's stillness
                                        You will disembark
                                       As I await your return
                                   Warmly clothed in loneliness...

Was fine when
we were twenty,
bones supple,
and anywhere
was pleasure
as long as we
were together.
But middle-age
has a few rewards,
like this new
king size bed
with my side,
your side,
and high enough up
that bones
don't groan
when we disembark
in the morning....

Decisions
We are on a precipice of War
Yet you spurn the most skilled Knight
Just to stoke your selfish Desire?
You choose pettiness over the Realm

The tempest is Imminent
Yet you let the chief captain disembark
Just to assert your dominance against mutiny?
 You choose self-aggrandizement over Lives.

Oh Master!...

A Power Struggle
the quay is where he sat.
deep in thought, he speaks out.
     “my money is my clout.”
he rise and walks.

     the quayside beacons him.
the pelicans he hears.
     he ponders his past years.
the muse was sent.

     his journey to pier lands;
     he sits to disembark.
the singing of the larks
brings deep thinking.

Walking In the Dark
It’s magic walking in the dark,
The sidewalks empty, shadows stark
And dogs have not begun to bark;
There’s promise in the air.

The birds are waking in the park,
Each chirp a beak-to-beak remark
And on the river, tugboats hark,
En route to who-knows-where.

When daylight breaks I disembark
From reveries the pre-dawns spark
As I confront the question mark
Of how the day will fare....

lavender ribbons
from your hair
lay against
the pages
I love to read
so much
and as I turned
the pages
the smell
of your hair
makes me
love the words
even more
as I envision
our last touch.
Such was ours a
bittersweet
journey
which was so
impossible
for me to
disembark
because my darling
for me you were
a romance story
but for you I wasn't
even a bookmark.

Lost Without a Trace
lost without a trace in a small little place
I've been erased and been replaced
its hard to find when you are left behind
feels like there's nothing in my mind

everything is empty and dark
its time to make a mark and disembark
searching for a road to offload
i need to decode before i explode

I'm always on the edge
need to make a pledge
this is all hocus pocus
i need to start and focus...

You Ask - You Get
welcome to my mind are you sure you're prepared to travel
well sit back and strap on a pair for there's no telling what you'll unravel,
its a trip that might amaze you not meant for the faint of heart
for if you are in search of a fairy tale then i suggest you disembark
not meaning to disturb you there are some frills and frights
but the best thing about it all is my bark is worse than my bite...

Daydream
I close my eyes,
And you and I
Are walking in the Winter rain,
And there beside the Susquehanna,
My arms are holding you again

As I walk on,
My body feels
Warm breezes blowing as I lead
Your eager hands through darkened woods,
Where we make love to sounds of Spring

I stop to rest,
And then I see
The bright sun shining in the park,
Where you and I embrace once more,
Before I have to disembark....

Premium Member Who Says Dogs Bark
Who the hell ever said dogs say "bark"?
My pup Willy-Paul disagrees,
He says that we should disembark,
From calling his sounds the stuff of trees.

Onomatopoeia,
Words that read as sounds,
"Bark" is an idiotic idea,
To define what is said by hounds.

"Woof" is another word I wouldn't,
Choose to describe the dogs I hear,
It's like a child who really couldn't,
Say the "l" in wolf; with a lisp it disappeared....

Purity In Life
Lies, deceit, half-truths,
Float quickly, drift, rising high.
Disembark trivia now.
One lie; then others,
Compensate the mortals’ eye.
Blinding in their retrospect,
Thou shall blame thyself,
Or shall thee blame all others.
Thine words shall destroy thyself.
Quiet thine spirit,
Relate to oneself what thee,
Has done all by your own deeds,
Qualify your mind.
Split between spirit and soul.
Own yourselves mistakes, till end....

Captain Punishment
the aquatorium’s legends speak
of a Captain Punishment
who takes with him
every recruit

his ship breaks waters uncharted
but familiar to all
the stars turn innavigable
yet constellations make image
we never see again yet never forget
and his harbours and ports?
oh dear
to his ports I've been
to his ports I've been

and you, young punk
may fret and yell all you want
but you'll too disembark
you'll too disembark.

Shattered Glass
Holding the mirror it hurts me so
Throw it and no one will no
Shatter your hope

This mirror indeed shows someone not me
Use the that brick you will see no more
Shatter your dreams

Mirror disembark from my hand
Let me go and let me stand
No more shattering my heart cannot bear

Step away for the glass is sharp
I told you from the start
Now mirror let it be

Shatter my grievances
Shatter my empty space
Do not shatter me anymore...

The port
A place to embark and disembark
The sea horizon
A place the ship appears and disappears
The breeze
Daytime comes the sea breeze
Night time goes the land breeze
A hope
Is always to be waited
Even though the sun rises at one place
And sets at a different place
You will find it one day
But where's the MAS MH370
Which lost eight years ago
Is it lost forever
But where's the absolute
Peace and justice
Once here
Is it lost forever...

Premium Member Maybe Ill Go For a Walk
Listen to poem:
Maybe I’ll Go For A Walk
David J Walker

Maybe I’ll go
	For a walk
Old men think such thoughts
	About
How to spend time on
A cold December morn

Maybe I’ll walk
	In the park
Disembark in a different
form
Same land different
	Time
When the park was
	Mine
And my friends

No ends to the things
We could do
Even if a blue
Norther came in

Maybe I’ll go
	For a mile
And maybe a mile more

One mile
every day
until I need not
	go away
anymore...

A Typical Visit From Mary Jane
My best friend Mary Jane is coming to my lair,
I have to get ready, I need to prepare.

French onion dip with chips will be a necessity.
Popcorn, peanut butter, ice cream and pizza definitely.

Coke, sprite, Oreo's, with a giant bag of pretzels,
Hershey’s, Cheetos, can’t forget about the Skittles.

I will breathe her in just as I did before.
Hilarity will disembark, I’m sure.
We will roar with laughter until our stomachs are sore,
Eat then pass out on my living room floor....
