Once We Are Grown

Once we are grown,
Days are a blur—
Then we bemoan
That all beauty must fade;

Thus it is shown
With no demur:
Youth is a loan
Which cannot be repaid.

Love the Life That Gives Us All Without Objection

Love the love
           that loves you most,
           love the shadow that
           provides you shelter...
           But always love life
           that offers you all,
           sans demur... !

Premium Member A Lovely Fate For the Irate

Senator Kristen Sinema negotiates only in private
Which drives her colleagues and reporters crazy-irate

I think if America had 49 more Senators like her
From all their ranting and raving the rest would demur

Solitude

SOLITUDE
Eaten – up in solitude
Camp in her cold shell
Couldn’t bar the rain
But watch it stain the desert
Scouting in misery
Like melancholy in the dust
This nature wheel m nut
Alas the plain is cold and freezing
Does warmth indeed exist?
I crave her but demur

The Price

I well know that the price is great
And to pay it I bid not wait,
I'll give it whole without a murmur;
I'll Shell it out without demur.

Great enterprises know their master
And his mind knows no disaster,
For I know all toils of clammy sweat
And poor their blood without a fret!

Nothing Returns

Nothing Returns
by Michael R. Burch

A wave implodes,
impaled upon
impassive rocks . . .

this evening
the thunder of the sea
is a wild music filling my ear . . .

you are leaving
and the ungrieving
winds demur:

telling me
that nothing returns
as it was before,

here where you have left no mark
upon this dark
Heraclitean shore.

Lazy Daisy Days

LAZY DAISY DAYS Languishing lying listlessly in the warm lamp of the sun Landscapes lingering language of lavishness again won Daisy dances decorate abundant demur flowerbeds Demonstrative distractive drapes-petite white heads Daylight daydreams decorate in delightful colored array Dispersing discord drama as I lazily capture a daisy day

Integrity

Venture without stopping
Hold on to your dream
Remain flipping flopping
That dream will lose gleam

Demur without waver
Do not hesitate
Defer, Accept favour
And you seal your fate

Observe, eschew bias
And trust what you see
Maintain neither pious
Submission; be free

Toward freedom aspire
Spurn hegemony
Honest witness require
For integrity

Commuter part deux

You've seen the sunlight
now you mask your pride
Friends tell you where to go

Keep on a straight line
peaceful shades of green
strides past you

There's a commuter strip demur
back to cover hes read his Daily Mail
the burglued fox languishes
Making sense of the passing years

Lost in a wherewithal
Is it time to change ?
to purify your soul
or cry to the wind?

Premium Member Attention Grabber

Flash, prance, shout, stare, glare
He's there, everywhere.
Locked in, stuck in snare.
Always in your face.
Focus locked in place.
Attention is grabbed.
Distraction has nabbed
Any free thought, stabbed.

Topics shift, switch, drift,
Avoids being miffed.
Avoids shun and shrift.
No time to dwell think.
No time to smell stink.
Chaos reigns to blur
Shake, rock, smash and stir
Away the demur.

To Eurydice

her steps rhyme with mine
an echo between yearn and daunt
I ask her to keep pace, her shadows pine
voices behind me, slick and gaunt
—the phantoms want to keep her
the light ahead hazy, yet I demur
we’re so close—or too close
panic surged deliriously, in prose—
my eyes turn to my asphodel...
her lost shadow whispers: ‘farewell.’

Congressional Conserve

Then void the footprints so demur,
wherein once walking, my feet pure
now doomed to stalking, faith as cure
the vise I deemed as caulking, minus stir ~

My country, silence balking
truth to serve
retreat while there is lacking
moment's lure!

What then is counteracting
what reserve
the led are never leaders
pretense verve!

To keep thy promise keeping
        keep your nerve
you backed away my seeking ~
. . . . . with conserve!

Raining Determination.....

Windswept,my eyes wept
tear filled wells from sting
vision blurred to cause demur
moving forward,yet hesitating

Unlucky fella,broke umbrella
inside out and torn
soaking wet worse part yet
beginning of the morn

Project deadline due at nine
still too far behind
brand new suit and brand new shoes
now in utter ruin

As I cry with rain from sky
frustration hidden well
presentation will be met
my deadline will be kept......

Cumulus

Cumulus

	Cumulus clouds
Fill the once lit daytime sky,
	These structures
Do now more than just pass by,
	Winter is here
Becoming the season for sure,
	It’s going to be a
Heavy one, more than demur,
	These flakes are
All in their own way unique,
	Giving this Winterous
Wonderous Land a totally new peek,
        Maybe this one
Will be the Winter’s miss,
	Or could it be a
All awaited snowy bliss.

Premium Member Who Has Not

Who has not had to demur and endure another’s wrath wrongly procured?

Who has not felt their face flush red from an unrighteous rebuke for words never said?

Who has not sat in a crowded room and yet felt all alone in their doom and gloom?

Who has not been subjected to the scorn of the hypocrite’s sanctimonious spurn?

Who has not been kicked to the dust from a friend’s betrayal of their trust?

Who has not known the ache of a heart that breaks?

My Truth

My Truth

I am an original
My body, my diary,
my totem temple,
a living portrait
frozen in time.

Black ink flows as fluidly
as the lineage in my vein.
Every line, every curve
roams my ivory plane.

I cannot bow down
nor demur, I have
bared my soul indelibly.
My poetry in flesh.

Needled into skin
__love-erotic therapy.
Pain is my sacrifice
and I will bleed for
my truth.
